There is some Ford executive who just loves the shit out of that image, and evidently doesn’t actually use FP. That’s the only thing I can figure.

It looks nice, but our phones aren't 3.8" 800x480 screens anymore. They should be able to fit everything you need immediate access to on the main screen. 90% of my interaction could be 1 click after opening the app.

This is correct. There’s no reason we should have to scroll the top page. And the ability to scroll means the buttons can move when you’re trying to quickly tap something, which is a pain in the ass.

I’ve pointed this out to Ford at least 3-4 times, both publicly and privately, and I’ve never even received a response. Not even a polite “go eff yourself.”

Everyone has opinions, and all companies/products have their faults. The forums can be a tidbit unfair and easily ignore the strengths of each product by taking them for granted.

The internet is very unkind to flaws/issues.

In the history of all things computing, hardware companies generally don't ever do software all that well and so far legacy automotive companies have held that standard of expectation well.

With that noted, their all trying to get better, but I fear on the back end programming teams probably have multiple tasks for multiple applications and not enough personal. Just seems to be the MO of Application Developer companies anymore.

I do think its nice to see it refreshed but I really do hope the back end has also been migrated to something newer. I mean why build a new app and not migrate to new servers as well or upgrade them.

Someone in a Facebook Ford EV group may or may not have posted a screenshot of the beta app controlling an F-150 Lightning that had a new settings menu where you could set the exact cabin temp with a slider as well as control the heated seats and wheel. That would be a very neat hypothetical feature that could be coming to the Mach-E as well.

Yeah, that's was available on mine for our MME, but I went to get a picture of it earlier and now I don't see them. But I thought it was awesome when I saw it appear in the beta app, I even used it to mess with the seat heaters, but now it seems to be gone again.

You mean like this? Very happy to see a redesign of this app coming, but I've wondered why they can't just give up and copy Tesla. We really would be better off. I know that will piss a few people off, but it really is just intuitive and makes sense.

Yeah the Tesla app is what I was thinking of. I don't need them to copy the Tesla app or even think they should. But it would at least make the large image of the vehicle reasonable.

Personally I like that they returned to the larger car image in this version. They previously had an image this size in FP4, but then around summer of 2022 it weirdly shrunk to a medium size.

I think the option to minimize the car picture would be nice, but I wouldn't use it. I can see everything I need on my phone screen without scrolling.
