@RickMachE - understood. But it seems kind of dumb for Ford to put Summer ONLY tires on a car that it sold in all climates. Now that I'm learning more about it I would have expected a huge sticker on my windshield that said "DON'T DRIVE ON THESE TIRES WHEN IT IS UNDER 45F DEGREES - THEY MAY DISINTEGRATE" o_O
I understand what you are saying. That said, owner has a responsibility to RTFM where it is spelled out. And it says Summer Tires on window sticker.

Thanks again Rick - and understood. But the term "Summer Tires" is a poor choice, as summer temps could easily get below 45F where they sell the MachE.

Also, I've purchased many cars in my life, and I've never even considered researching whether the tires on the car I'm buying were appropriate for my climate. I realize RTFM applies, but I think Ford should have made that very clear (and not just a window sticker thing). Just my opinion of course...

it's actually changed now, when I ordered my mach e gt pe in June last year, (the second order window) you had the option of all season or summer only tires.
That is true depending on how it was ordered. Mine was a Job 1 2023 so it had the Summer tires as seen right on the Window sticker.

A note on the SiriusXM subscription. Yes, the trial is only 90 days. If you want to keep it, call SiriusXM directly and negotiate a year long subscription. If you don't, you'll get a very high rate. I usually get it for 50% off every year. I just insist I want the same deal as I had the previous year. I does go up a bit each time which is reasonable.
At 50% off, you’re paying too much. I never pay more than $5/mo (plus tax and fees) for the platinum plan.

found legal -compliant -tires and rims on 20s on tire rack - they would not guarantee other rims to fit -and cost was similar
ford also offers training - 30 minute conference calls for free for new owners ! And i

I did PPF front and ceramic coating and now just driving it

I will like other cars in Colorado switch tires an inside mats each summer

hope to extend tire wear with two sets

last learnings were automatic high beams - and becoming comfort with cruise control

No other surprises loving the fun car

FWIW my dealer explained to me that the included tires were summers and that I'd need to order winter tires. I actually had to wait almost a week for the tires to come in before I took possession.

My GTPE is a 2022 purchased in 2023 so it was sitting in the cold on its summer tires all winter. I didn't think to inspect the summers when I took delivery, because I wasn't on this forum yet so didn't know they could fail from just being stored in the cold. Now they're stored at Kaltire, hopefully in a warm warehouse. I'll have Kaltire inspect them in April when I swap them back on.

IMHO all dealers should be doing this, but the reality is that a lot of them do not. Back when I got mine in 2021, my dealer did explain this (although I already knew this and how to deal with it). ??

This is nothing new because we have an EV. My 2019 Mustang GT Performance was only available with summer tires as part of that package. All the other Mustang trims at that time including standard GT had all season tires.

I had to sign a paper acknowledging that I did not want to buy winter tires and it only came with summer tires before I drove my dealer demo off the lot 2 weeks ago.

Best part is when I looked at the tires a few days later, they were winter tires and I had to go buy summer tires!

Also Night Pony package only comes with summer tires. That was a sticking point for me. I wanted the ContiRX's and it's unpossible.

Looks like my moms old neighborhood, has a big park in the middle and a mosquito lake behind? Though could just be all the snow lol.

I purchased my GTPE on 3/7/24. Within the last week, SiriusXM emailed me to offer 3 more months for $2 + tax ($2.15 total, in my case). So I did that. However, it will convert to full price monthly at the end of the period, so I will cancel before that date. Then (after some period of weeks, or maybe a couple of months) they will send me one of those $5/mo for a year things and I'll sign up again. As long as you can "suffer" through a few weeks without service, this is the best deal going.

Every time I get to the end of my annual subscription, as soon as the price is supposed to jump to $22/month or whatever, I call them and "cancel". I never actually cancel as the mere threat gets them to honor the previous price. I think with taxes and fees I pay about $7 per month. The tactic never fails and I never have to suffer a few weeks without service.

The current promo is actually $3.99 a month. I just did a chat with SXM and had the price lowered for both cars. Took about 3 minutes.

Do yourself a favor, put the car into Unbridle Extend and bed in the brakes. I did it a few weeks ago and hooooly crap are the brakes strong.

About the tires. It kinda blows me away how sensationalist people are about the GTPE stock tires on this forum. I've been driving sports cars on summer tires for years and have never not driven them in the winter. Sub-freezing temps, light snow, never had an issue. Saying these tires can't ever see temps below 20 degrees? Then we should sue Ford for selling this vehicle in anything but tropical climates. I bought my GTPE just before Christmas in VA and it's been driven almost every day since, other than when it was actually snowing. It's in a garage at my house, but at work it sits outside in the cold until I go home. So plenty of temps in the 20s. I just don't drive crazy, pull high G turns, or fast acceleration and braking. Can't imagine the tires will tear themselves apart under very normal driving conditions. If they do, then I'll have to replace them eventually anyway and I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong. I bet it'll be just fine.
