I only DCFC 8-10 times a year.

In the 16-20 DCFC sessions over the past two years I have experienced a few hiccups but nothing that prevented me from charging.

I like the idea of having the adapter for flexibility but I am not sure how often it will actually be used.

When I first got the car I bought a level 2 adapter so I could charge at Tesla destination chargers. I have used that adapter twice. Both times at the same hotel in Charleston SC. The hotel I am staying at in May has both Tesla Destination and J1772 plugs so I might get a chance to use the level 2 adapter.

I have a trip in early May that will be my first opportunity to use the NACS adapter. My wife is against using the adapter once I explained having to take up two spots. She doesn't want the potential conflict. For this trip we will be staying in the middle of nowhere Tennessee that oddly has a couple ChargePoint DCFC stations but no Tesla Supercharger stations but there will be our choice of DCFC brands along the route.

Don't worry about taking up 2 spaces for 1 Tesla SC.
All the Tesla drivers have been very understanding.
At one Tesla location, the Tesla was backing into the slot to left of me and when I told the Tesla owner that the charger is being used - she said she will wait.

I have to charge a lot on DCFC for work and road trips.

A2Z + Ford adapters will both be kept on board until Ford figures out how to lock the adapter while charging and not allow anyone other than the driver to press the stop charge button...

Probably never as there really isn’t a Tesla network in Alaska. So chargers are going in the summer but they a NEVI funded so I would think they will be CCS compliant. The one location I do know of is a Magic doc location near Anchorage. I haven’t even needed to us DCFC yet in 2 years of driving.

Rarely. In Florida the power utilities offer DCFC at $0.30-0.34/kWh and are located every 50 miles or so. Typically, if I have to drive a lot more than I planned, a 10 min top-up gets me home with an acceptable SOC.
I’m grateful to have the adapter because it doubles the options if I have to evacuate for a hurricane.

Within a 3-4 hour driving radius of metro Pittsburgh, there are about 4 or 5 NACS stations I could possibly use in my normal road trip scenarios. This will definitely take some pressure off in winter time driving as there are currently some dead zones without any DCFC opportunities until the NEVI Award designated locations start to populate the landscape. Those latter sites are seemingly taking most of this calendar year to become realized, and with my NACS adapter on the shipping schedule for June I likely will not see much difference in my road tripping planning until the second half of this year in all likelihood. I will welcome the improvements in infrastructure/compatibility, and will continue to have a measure of patience for it to arrive.

I'll use once every 3 months for a trip. I'm just trying to avoid the Chevy Bolt and Kia Niro ride share drivers who hog the working chargers charging to 100% at the CCS station on my route. If it wasn't for those drivers, I'd just go to the CCS station.

For me, it will be rare but crucial.

We've got decent coverage of CCS DCFCs here in the Yukon and at the moment travel south into BC is... difficult. I'm making a trip over to Anchorage this June but the only SC in Alaska is a Magic Dock site anyway so not a big deal.

But BC Hydro is planning a bunch of sites in the far north of British Columbia this year, and once I can get south to Prince George there are a bunch of SCs between there and Vancouver that I'll be able to use.

As I think about it, I might look at what restaurants are available walking distance from CCS1 vs NACS sites as the primary determinant.
You are like me - charge locations by the stomach....

I love the Tesla locations where I live/work - they are always in nice shopping mall parking lots or upscale type of places to eat.

I was getting tired of the EA/EVGo locations where there were only fast food or worse - 7-11 and gas stations..

kdonnel: If you don't mind, where in TN are you going? I live in West TN but travel a lot to East TN to see my family; I might be able to provide some real world information on the ChargePoint chargers you mentioned in your original post. I use I-40 route and a backroads route through some small towns. Hope you have a good time visiting TN.

From Atlanta to Nashville to Tullahoma for a wedding and then back to Atlanta.

Staying in a hotel in Tullahoma with level 2 charging. Looks like we have our choice of an EA station or a Tesla supercharger both on the interstate near Tullahoma and then two ChargePoint DCFC in Tullahoma.

I haven't used the ChargePoints in Tullahoma but I have used ChargePoints 62.5kw chargers at other locations and have had no issues. You can use the Charge Assist/Public Charging app in the Mach E to activate them. The EA station in Manchester is usually pretty reliable. The Tesla superchargers in Manchester are 150kw V2 units I believe. I don't think Mach E can charge on them; I think we can only use the V3 and V4 superchargers. Maybe someone else can chime in this topic. I have not used any of Tesla chargers yet. According to Plugshare app, the Tesla superchargers in Manchester can only charge Tesla vehicles.

Rarely. We do about 9,000-15,000 miles of road trips a year, with about 50+ DCFC charges a year. But I've only ever been in one or two situations where a NACS charger would have made the road trip better. Never where it was crucial. My partner insisted we get the A2ZEV adapter as well as the Ford adapter, but I find it hard to believe it'll enable new trips our shorten regular trips for us.

No idea, I'm still running off my free EA credits :p But really, I don't really plan to use them much until the longer cable V4 stations appear. However there is a SC by my dad's place that's way more convenient than driving 20 minutes to the nearest Walmart for the EA stations with only a few plugs.
