early on before the 12v state of charge was recognized as an issue, but lots of people posting about weird things going on with their car, so yes I'd say it was worse early on. I also maintain that they did something to the 12v management system to eliminate the low state of charge a lot of people experienced in earlier cars. Like I said my 23 has never dropped below 80% and ranges typically 85-95%.
It’s possible they did fix it in the 23 models and that is just going out OTA to the rest of us now. I hope it helps!

Yes it's always important to be able to view anything that requires a charge and understand the state and that the health of that 12 V battery is still good that would be a very good addition to the main screen I'm surprised that Ford missed that one.

but you know I tried to think back of any cars I've had in recent memory that had any kind of battery status, just can't think of any. Interestingly, almost every motorcycle I've owned over the last twenty years has had a readout on battery voltage when engine is on.

For those interested, I randomly checked the Ford site and saw my 12v charge was at 84%. I decided to remote start the car for 10 minutes. At the end it was up to 91%.

These computers on wheels, that are never REALLY asleep, are giving plenty of folks AGM frustrations.

And honestly, if you really really want to know more about what is going on than the factory has provided on native interfaces, the OBD tools for monitoring these same vehicles has become vast! You can monitor almost anything you desire.

Do not really care what other cars are doing as I do not own them yet. If they never sleep that is just another reason to understand how it behaves. I am not sure if it is government regulated or just gun shy when you close the HVJB contacts to maintain the vehicle?

You sound like a Ford rep telling us no way. They give us games Alexa and map the world but no 12V status? You can power it off and watch a 12V plug in to read it also. Just like a OBD a bit ridiculous in my opinion. So easy to put it on the app vehicle page beside the tire pressure in the status drop down. Reasons just keep stacking up.

I don't know if I sound like a Ford Rep to folks or not ?, but was just pointing out the baggage that comes with the recent explosion of technology in the modern vehicle industry.

I suppose I'm just less frustrated by it than some/many? And the OBD monitoring tools are actually something I enjoy. I find it all quite fascinating.
There's something like 1500 PIDs on the Hybrid F150. Obviously the manufacturer isn't going to have the screen real estate for.......

Ford Mustang Mach-E Dear Ford… why no 12v battery gauge? 20240408_084004

I am all over the low voltage side of the Powerboost. And believe me when I say it's given far more fits than the Mach-E low voltage charging strategy has, from what I've seen on the forums.

(I know you mentioned that you don't care. I'm just sharing for those that might)

Login to the ford website and it’s on that page.
Let me find the link. Not intuitive

Go to ford.com. Open menu and click my account. Login. Then open menu again, click my account. Then click “your name” account. You should see a page like this. Charge level is your 12v

That's interesting. Ford.com doesn't show that screen that when I log in.

You're looking at the "Vehicle Dashboard". You need to select the top item in that menu, "X's Account". Very confusing.

Tom ? Was your car plugged in to a charger or not? I just did a remote start unplugged at 86% and now it's 82% when I check. Just curious if I should have been plugged in. Duke

I got the dreaded “battery drain” message for no apparent reason. I can only assume it had something to do with me connecting the car to home wifi yesterday. The good news is the alert appeared while I was home and time to charge.

But why not show the battery level in the app? How do I know if I’m good to go in the morning?

IMG_1360.jpeg
I live in an apartment, no way to charge at home, I travel frequently, and when I check my 12 battery through "Stargard" [the antitheft program] it shows the 12v battery level. It will show the battery gong down .1 every couple of days, but then my MME must do something to boost it back up, because when it gets down to about 12.2v the next day it will show almost 13v again. Or at least 12.8v. I suspect it naturally is programed to keep my 12v battery in a good SOC. I don't know, I'm just telling you all what I see....

They are improving 12v battery management through an OTA update that many are getting about now:

Priority Update - Battery Optimization

Battery and Remote Start Enhancements

• Your vehicle's battery management is now upgraded to optimize battery charge for receiving software updates, aiming to make the update process more seamless.

• Your FordPass personal profile now remembers your last settings, ensuring your Remote Start recalls your most recent profile to prepare your drive just the way you like it.

Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time.

Must not be the greatness BMS if it can be improved. Those with a 2023 that mention they have better BMS than those with vehicles built in 2020 does not really help the later.

That up date will most likely be helpful for those still on power up 4.2. When do expect all to have receive this one? Around BC time? So is this the reason for no owner info on their 12V status?

what would be nice but don't know if it's even possible, something you plug into a USB port that tells you battery SOC. I know you can get plug in to tell you voltage. I'm talking about a basic electronic guage that you could leave in place.

it's kind of odd that as pointed out the "vehicle dashboard" doesn't give you the 12v batt status but the ".............account does"
