Would you pay to reserve a spot at your favourite EV stations? If so how much.

Personally I would love this option especially on 3 day weekends etc. $3-5

I can imagine a situation where I need to stop at a DCFC to get home and have to wait for a no-show that reserved a spot. What happens when a reservation holder shows up 20 minutes late? I can imagine a lot of confrontation that is eliminated by simply waiting in line fist come, first serve.

I'm generally opposed to this idea the same way I am generally opposed to things like the Disney "Fast Pass" concept.

Good point! Or maybe $10 fee that’s applied after your charging session?

I don't want to travel where I have to be at a certain spot (location) at a certain time. Could be having a good time a lunch. Then have to tell everyone I need to go my EV spot is open.

I also don’t want to show up to an empty charger and have to wait for a reserved driver show up or no show just to charge

EVgo offers the option today in select locations. You reserve and need to be at the charger within 20 min of hitting the button. It’s free for members on $6.99 and above plans and $3 for everyone else.

The charger company wouldn't care. They just made 4 to 5 times (maybe even more) the amount of money if the driver didn't show.

Our commuter rail stations have monthly reserved parking spots - adding an L2 to certain ones might be worth paying a bit extra per month for some drivers.

I think it was mentioned evgo does this at some locations. But how would it work> if there is a line of cars and you show up are like thats my spot….im sure no one would let you in. Unless the charge unit is frozen waiting for your credentials only to charge. Or if it’s iced or blocked? I just dont see how it could work. If you reserved a unit 2 and someone plugged in and charged for an hour and your time is lost?
