23B50 for the stuck charge cord was a powertrain update.

On the 9th of March your car got OTA 24-PU0102-CHG-SUFX which was an update to the powertrain modules.

In FDRS when the techs did your HVJB later in the month....no powertrain updates were performed becasue the instructions say to update powertrain modules. But if there aren't any updates available...then you're done. Since you had just gotten the powertrain OTA, you likely didn't have anything to update.

So, we now have a 'freeze' on powertrain updates for at least the next couple of weeks. I would say that if you are having issues with 1PD dropping off...or unexpected drive mode switching (like from Unbridle to Engage, etc.) then you do have the latest powertrain updates. And if these things aren't happening to you, then you may not have the most current powertrain updates, and should be happy that you dodged a bullet.

It's possible that the service advisor just hasn't submitted the ticket to close 23B50 out....
Thank you very much, Mike, I really appreciate what you and the others on this thread do. I haven’t had 1pd drop on me, but I’ve had drive mode switching issues. One day in a parking garage the car seemed to hop on me. Seemed like the auto Hold was kicking in(which I don’t use), or possibly brakes locking. Not sure, but turned 1 pd off for the drive home. Turned it back on the next day, has worked fine ever since. So I believe I must have the updates, thank you again.

Would it be possible to get info on my VIN? It was with the dealer for some other stuff, but apparently, @avdonr was able to see that they were performing a bunch of updates. I just received a text from them saying that my car is ready, and I'm curious what was done. I had ordered and just received everything to play with FDRS myself, but now I may wait.

I just checked your vehicle software page, they did all your updates. Nothing left pending.

I tried updating my new (to me) MME around a month ago, but got hung up on the DSP update. Could someone please check mine now?

Thanks again! I was hoping to dive into FDRS this weekend, but I guess that will have to wait. Good news/bad news!

You just have the one DSP update still pending. There was an issue about a month ago where it wouldn’t clear after updating. It’ll clear now once you reconnect and do a network scan. After it clears, you’re fully up to date.

Thank you. I’m trying to understand the 6.14.0. I got the car 2 months ago and have always had the trunk button, but have the old icons. ‘21 J1

Ah okay, so you have the same problem that I had (2021 vehicle). Ford messed up their dependencies once again and is not providing a needed gateway (GWM) module update for certain vehicles. That GWM update is a pre-requisite to the 6.14 APIM update. Not sure why Ford has not yet fixed this dependency issue, it has been a few months.

You currently have the LJ8T-14H021-PAJ revision of the GWM software. You need to be on LJ8T-14H021-PAL in order to receive the 6.14 APIM update. I found a way to install the LJ8T-14H021-PAL update manually, so if you would like to do the same you can DM me. After you update your GWM you will be offered the APIM update in FDRS.

The IPMA programming specifically, can run that requirement up to almost 40A. Just so you're aware.
I didn't really know that IPMA costs that much to update. When I was updating IPMA I started with around 13.5v on battery with a battery charger that charges at around 16A and I managed to finish the update at around 12.2V after a few hours, so I guess a smaller battery charger should also work as long as the 12v battery is fully charged. Maybe a little bit too dangerous though.

I've received a lot of the priority updates but no APIM updates. Can someone look to see if there's a GWM update in FDRS that could potentially unblock me? I am trying to decide if it's worth a license.

Thanks!

You've got the bluecruise 1.4 updates pending, as well as HVAC, RFA, ACM and IPC.

I would start with IPC, then the others.

In terms of the 6.14 update, you are also blocked by a pre-requisite GWM update (you are on PAJ but need PAL). This will not show up in FDRS for you, but like the others above, if you send me your VIN I can see about getting that GWM update for you to install manually. Once installed you will be offered the APIM 6.14 update in FDRS.

Is there a method to enable 1.4 using Forscan after getting all the needed updates now?

Technically yes, that’s what I did with my car. You should be able to find more information regarding it on the forums already. Just have to edit some config options in the APIM and IPMA.

I believe the 6.14 APIM update already includes these edits if you update via FDRS but don’t take my word for it.

For most of the people on the FDRS thread who've updated an IPMA it's taken a powersupply capable of providing up to 40A (measured during programming) because the 35Ah battery in the MME can't be kept at a 13.5V level using just a battery charger that doesn't have a powersupply mode. If you managed to do it with just a battery charger...and not a power supply then you are unique.

Also, based on your session history in FDRS it looks like you actually haven't been able to update that IPMA successfully. I see you've tried often enough though.
