Why does my Ford Connected Charge Station report kWh usage that is much higher than my total home electric bill?

The Mach-E is driven about 1,340 mi/mo and we 100% charge at home.
So some back-of-the-envelope math suggests you consume between 350kWh-500kWh per month just for charging your EV, depending on type of driving. The Mach E GT will probably get 2.8-3.5 miles per kWh, depending on city vs highway, highway speed, etc. I don't see how you can use less than 500kWh total for your house when most of that has to go to the car. Do you have any green energy sources (solar / wind) at your house?

No we just have the electrical service from the utility and all from a single panel. Maybe the meter on the house is what is actually defective and I should just keep quiet about it ?

I'm trying to calculate my actual electricity cost to charge our Mach-E. I am looking at the Charge Station data in FordPass under Insights. For the previous month, it is reporting 577.327 kWh through the EVSE, yet my last electric bill for the entire home shows only 452 kWh roughly the same time period. Is the FCCS really that inaccurate or am I missing something?

Looks like you're comparing the calendar Month of April to the billing period of 3/13/24 to 4/12/24.

I use ford app and the app seems pretty dead on. When I look at percentage below 100 that my 100kw battery is it always seems to be with a KW or so of that.

That doesn't matter. As I posted earlier, I averaged out last six months and the FCCS is reporting kWh that is way higher than my utility bill for the entire home each month. Some people are reporting that the FCCS is accurate, and others that it is inaccurate. Obviously mine is nowhere near accurate. I called Ford and they told me many customers are reporting the same issue.

Yeah based on the miles driven plus normal home usage your electrical bill should be like 700-900 kWh per month or about double what you're being charged. So something's up with your metering...

I would start reading your electrical meter yourself once a week and keep records.

Well I guess the party is over. Oncor (who handles the power delivery equipment in my area) came out to the house to "check the voltage" on the equipment next to the street. They needed to cut power to the house for a few seconds to check it. A few weeks later I get "back-billed" for 3 months of electricity, and then with February added, I get a bill for over $2K. My Jan 2025 electricity bill was for $505. The Jan 2024 bill was only $95. I switched to a lower cost plan since I am now going to have to pay for what I am actually using. Should I feel guilty that I was paying only 20% of what I was using for years? I think this problem with the meter has existed since the house was built in 2016!
