This guy's premise is shaky at best. He's concluding that Tesla branded vehicles that are equipped with Lidar are being operated by Tesla, and that it means Tesla is going to incorporate Lidar sensors into future retail vehicles.

It's also possible (and I think more likely) that the observed vehicles are being operated by OTHER companies for purposes unrelated to Tesla. Or, they ARE operated by Tesla but to update its road map data that is used for functions like Navigate on Autopilot.

Not sure if this has been posted. Seems like Tesla just hit a new low. The way they treat their loyal customer is amazing.

My friend tried to trade in his M3 for a MY. When the MY came in, the back lift gate wouldn't auto close. He said you could clearly see the back end was misaligned. It would close if you pushed on it, but not by itself.

Tesla salesman (not a dealer) told him they would fix it and it would take five days. My buddy said no thanks. He didn't want to pay $50k for a car that had to have it's lift gate realigned. Salesman said if he didn't take that car, then they couldn't guarantee when another one would be available. My buddy thanked them for their time and left in his old M3.

That was back in October. He hasn't heard a peep from Tesla since. (His guess is they fixed it and sold it to someone else.)

All that being said, we had thought it was an isolated incident and that Tesla SC just was having a bad day. I do wish buying the MME was more like Tesla, but that doesn't mean the Tesla way is perfect.

When I bought my C-max, the rear hatch would also not fully latch. Unless you pressed on it. Took the dealer a couple of tries to fix it and I haven't had a problem in the 8 years since.

The dashboard is also misaligned some and the vent close rollers slider things had to be aligned with the dealer too.

I guess some evidence that the Alan Mullally Era wasn't the best. I wonder what a post Elon Musk Era Tesla will look like.

I can’t believe we’ve been talking about this since last year.
and it will never stop. The mache is the first true offer BEV vs tesla. With more BEV coming out it will be just like ice vs ice. The good part is the more they make the better it is for us as consumers.
