@Mike G
Thank you for all your patience and looking up the dates for my car. I really appreciate this ?

I have one question left…… Can an old Sync version of job 1 be updated to a new version? Or will the version remain the same because my MME is from 2021?
It can definitely be updated to the newer version.

I know the "latest" revisions of Sync here in NA do not necessarily line up with the "latest" revisions seen in the EU/UK but there should be no reason that you should still be stuck with that old a revision unless your car was affected by the very, very, old OTA 171 bug which corrupted data in the APIM and required a special procedure to fix.

The latest revision to the procedure I'm talking about is TSB 2404.......and I would not be surprised, especially for a MME in the EU, to be "stuck" and have the dealer techs tell the owner that "there's nothing wrong, Ford just hasn't sent you an update". Which is BS.

Sync 154 is ridiculously old. My car (yes it's a US car) is on Sync 1122. I think a lot of EU cars are on something like Sync 883 (or something like that).
Here's our chart showing what revs are current as of March:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 2021_Sync4_Latest_Rev

Here's another problem that affects this.....the GWM and APIM and TCU specifically are intended to be updated sequentially and there are dependencies at work. So that means if you are still on a very old version of the APIM (Sync), and you're "stuck" there...other updates cannot be offered to your car until that stuck APIM gets sorted.

Here in the US many techs have had issues with doing the TSB 2404 procedure, because it's a bit tricky, and also because they have to buy special USB and network adapters in order to "side-load" into the APIM to fix it when required. A lot of times they just get an authorization code to just replace the APIM altogether, and just update the new one to the latest revision (along with all the GWM and TCU updates that pop up after the dependencies are satisfied by updating the APIM).

I think it was a UK member that said recently that they had to send a FSE to his dealership with the correct adapters to sort his car out.

Bear in mind...this is a problem from the fall of 2021 that many people are still dealing with because dealer techs didn't want to mess with it or it was "too hard". And it was easier to tell owners that "Ford will send you an update..."...and the owners didn't know any better.

There is a routine in FDRS that the tech can run to see if you are "stuck":
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others Module_Update_Repair

This should tell them (along with the other major clue that you're still on Sync 154) if you need this fix applied to get you back up to date.

I've often wondered what was gonna happen when 2021 models that are now out of warranty and still had the OTA 171 stuck APIM problem were going to get dealt with.

This is one of those things that clearly should still be fixed at no cost...since it's self-evident that the problem started years ago and was never properly diagnosed and remedied. I'm sure there are still shed-loads of cars that still have this issue.

I find several F150's on Sync 20301 every week. Hangar-loads is more like it.

@Mike G:
That is a very detailed description. Thank you for looking into it. I will make an appointment at the Ford dealer as soon as possible and explain this to him.

Hopefully the dealer has experience with this and will get the Sync up to date again. I do think that Ford or the dealer should solve this.

I will keep you informed of the progress.

Fortunately, I still have the extended warranty until April 2025. So they can solve it for me.

Hello, traded my '21 Select for a '23 Premium in February, and haven't had an update since March 8. Would really appreciate a check

3FMTK3SU1PMA90416

Many thanks!
You recently got the 23-PU1113-UNX-DC update but have no other OTAs in the queue (maybe later in the week closer to Friday?).

Here's the list of available updates showing for your VIN in FDRS:

I recently back in December had a failed update for powerup 6.4 (I think). Since then I've only received a couple minor priority updates and haven't seen a retry of the failed powerup update since. I would really appreciate it if anyone has some time to check my VIN to see if the failed update has somehow gotten my vehicle stuck with the powerup update series.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer, VIN is 3FMTK3R72MMA66413 (21 ER Premium)
You're not stuck. Your car called and said you need to start it up and take it for a drive to download these two pending OTAs:

Take it for a spin or go do some shopping and when you're parking and about to shut it off check the updates and tell it to "Update Now"...don't worry about those "2 hours and 30 minutes: inhibits....it doesn't take that long...in fact it will tell you exactly on the screen how long to expect it to take....and if that doesn't suit you wait to do it when you get home. You're lucky, I rarely see a car with two or more activation triggers for pending updates.

Thanks so much for this info! Great to know... I didn't know you needed to drive it to download some of these, figured being on WiFi would be good enough.

We've substituted our other car as my wife's commuter because we were racking up to many miles so the Mach-e was only seeing short outings once a week or so.
Thanks again!
