How do you know? That could explain a lot of things. Perhaps even everything.

I think it’s more likely that Tesla has contracted with a 3rd party to produce adapters to their specification. I doubt Tesla is spending production capacity on making chargers for their competitors.

I certainly am glad I bought the A2Z adapter. I only ordered it because I had a road trip in early April and I knew my Ford adapter would arrive that soon … even if there were no shipping delays. I figured I’d use it for the road trip and sell it once I get a Ford adapter.

Now it seems like we might be in for a bit of a wait … I’ll just be holding on to that A2Z adapter a while longer.

Well, he IS the one making the Tesla adapters. As much as I’m not a fan of Elon or Tesla, my experiences with Tesla has been that their superchargers work, and are cheaper (by about $0.10 - $0.15 than the DCFCs.

Haven’t had a chance to use one yet but I’ve seen quite variable pricing. I’m likely to pay more as the rate is the lesser factor with charging on a trip.
Just realized the cheaper rates at night explains the long lines at the charger just down the road. Fairly empty daytime.

Here’s hoping the next iteration of tesla charging and all charging companies for that matter is improve. It seems the biggest barrier still to wider adoption.

I’m not sure which products you are specifically referring to. The adapters that have shipped out reportedly work well. Tesla automobiles are very popular and sell in great numbers. Superchargers work more reliably than other DCFC’s. Starlink is a godsend for millions of rural and isolated users. SpaceX has reliably sent payloads into space for many repeat customers. Off? Off topic, of the wall? I was not talking strictly product. I was referring to his promises, and similar matters which are usually off, way off.

I guess he overestimated his ability to 3d print all these adapters in the garage of his rented house.

According to the "State of Charge" YouTube review of the A2Z adapter, plug and charge works with it.

Yes Ford P&C works but it will charge you the full non member rate.

I use the Tesla app with membership to get the discounted Tesla driver member rate since I charge at least 5 times a month - way cheaper than charging at home.

The official Tesla-Ford adapter has no clue on it as to origin. No “Made in” type imprint. It does have a matrix code on it but using a readily available matrix code reader yields nothing useable.
