Do you think the BlueCruise update is still coming to MY21/22 cars?

Is the Bluecruise update still coming?

I can't believe we're almost at a year since a Ford employee posted here that v1.3 was coming soon. But here we are with no wide release of the update. The longer time passes it makes me think we won't be getting it after all. You only get the version that shipped with the car because it's too complicated to update. So MY23 and above will have v1.2 or above, but MY21 and 22 will be stuck on 1.0.

Since my 21 job 1 received 1.0 ota, they have shown the ability to do it. What I don't get is the lack of communication from Ford about it. But like my survey from a few months ago showed, Ford does not care what their customers think.

If they don't do it, why would anyone ever trust Ford again? I wouldn't.

That's the only reason I have hope at this point between the lengthy delay and complete lack of communication. But, maybe they just think we're idiots and will forget.

I think they'll update it...eventually. A lot of owners will let their BC subscription lapse until 1.3+ goes out.

Ford will probably take a page out of Tesla's playbook and offer a free trial to owners with lapsed subscriptions to encourage uptake.

The communication from ford continues to be god-awful…

I’m messaging with them now about the lack of updates and how behind my truck is in updates…

They say when did I talk to dealer! What does the dealer have to do with pushing an over-the-air update to my vehicle?

The dealer pushes you to call Ford, and Ford tells you to call the dealer.

Circle of fun.

I don't know if 21'/22' model years will get the Update. Really, the only reason I did the $600 3 year extension was I felt the 1.2(3,4) was "around the corner". As it turns out after taking this long; I'm in the "don't think it's coming group". Sure would be nice if Ford just came out and say.
Either:
1. Hey Guys, we are working really hard how to get this update out to our OGs who bought the 1st 2 model years.
OR
2. Sorry Guys, the change in hardware/software will not allow us to update your cars past BC 1.0 in the 2021/2022 model years.

#Communication!!

I wasn't likely to pay $600 in the first place, but with no BC updates and the "please pay us" I sure wasn't going to, haven't, and don't plan to. I will reconsider the decision after the point I have an updated bluecruise AND if they provide a free trial AND if it isn't as bad as 1.0 was around my area. Constant disengages on every entry/exit (so every 1 mile), misreading truck/bus speed limits as its speed limit, etc.

I said it elsewhere: if ford wants that sweet subscription revenue from the software defined car they need to deliver on the software defined car. Not doing the work to compute if older models can charge faster, safely, like the 24s is "not delivering" to me. Not OTA'ing promised bluecruise updates that will improve disengage/curve following behavior is also "not delivering."

Wait a minute, didn't Darren Palmer say on a recent podcast that BC 1.3 has already rolled out to existing Mach-e's and would be rolling out to existing Lightnings soon????

I think what he meant to say is new Mach-e's are shipping with BC 1.3 and the Lightning will start shipping new vehicles with BC 1.3 in 2024 ...

How is it in any way valuable to know what people "think" about this? Unless someone has concrete information, it seems pointless.

I find it very odd that my answer to the title is no but my answer to the poll question is yes. That may be confusing people.

Mach E’s have been shipping with 1.3 since 2023.5 models.

I'm still sitting in 6.4 after 9 months. I could have started another life to raise in the time I havn't received an actual product update. I got the 6chan audio update that I need to go back out and unfix to the EQ I had set up.
In the day I've been back home I've driven the car near 100 miles, of which 10 of those BC1.0 worked. The rest of the time I just have green lane keeping lines that don't care if I cross the line most of the time so I think something else has now been goofed in one of the updates I got recently (Tesla SC one or this 6chan audio thing or the other one that was for making updates easier to receive...)

I don’t think that Ford has scraped the idea of updating the ‘21 or ‘22 cars’ BC. I believe that they are just slow as heck. I don’t have a dog in the marsh for this since my car isn’t hardware compatible. ?‍♂?

I’m being optimistic. It seems they’ve caught up a lot of the 21’s on OTA’s up to but not including the Blue Cruise OTA. So, I’m thinking, optimistically again, that they’re about ready to blast it out. (The door OTA was just a test - and it’s working great!).
