Hello MME Family,
This is my first time posting something, but please kindly read my story and let me know what I could do...
I purchased a new 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT on June 3, 2024. Leading up to the purchase, I visited three Ford dealerships around my city on June 1 and June 3, 2024. All the dealerships consistently told me that charging would be free for five years or up to a certain amount at Tesla and other charging stations that are part of Fordās network. However, after buying the car and charging several times at Electrify America (EA) stations, I kept being charged. When I contacted Ford Customer Service, they informed me that the promotion had ended on June 1, 2024, and therefore, I was not eligible for it. They advised me to seek compensation directly from the dealership.
However, the dealership avoided responsibility by claiming that Ford had not informed them properly, and the only compensation they offered for the misinformation I received was free charging at their dealership. This charging is not even fast charging but just Level 2 charging. It has been confirmed that there was indeed a lack of proper training and guidance to the dealerships from Ford, as all the dealerships around my city were unaware that the promotion had ended. It seems that the sales managers might have been aware, but the frontline dealers were not.
I hope that Ford reads this and provides appropriate compensation to customers like me who purchased based on incorrect information.
