I installed the Blue Cruise 1.3 update two days ago, and then last night I charged overnight to 90%.

Then when I went to drive the car today, at 90% charged the GOM had the range being 211 miles. Normally, 90% charged is around 280 miles for me.

What happened? Is this due to the update, or could it be an issue with my battery?

For the record, it is not because of cold weather. It is July and it's 80 degrees here.

Further information: I have a 2022 Cali Rt 1 ER AWD. It has 42000ish miles on it. I have been putting off the HVBJV recall fix (plan on doing it soon, but life has been busy), but also I drive with a light foot and my car was not delivered until after the recall software update so I wasn't too worried about it.

SOC SOC SOC SOC, you can extrapolate your range based on your approximate consumption in the trips page.

GOM means nothing.

Updates often reset the range calculator (Guess-o-Meter or GOM) causing the number to change.

It will go back to what it was (modulo current charge) in a few days as it gets used to your habits again.

So true. Excellent wisdom.

I’m experiencing a similar issue, but with charge %, not GOM range.

Charged overnight until noon and got up to 81%. Took car out around 12:30 and as I backed out of the garage, charge amount dropped to 79%. After driving less than a mile it dropped to 77%.

It mostly stabilized from there, dropping 1% in the rest of a 3-4 mile drive.

Anyone else experience this or can explain it?

The GOM is best used as a "thumb in air" for range. There will be wild swings, but they often smooth out on a given ride.

As long as your >10% remaining (if you want to cut it close), it does not really matter. A few miles here and there, it all balances out.

Heck, weather was "perfect" a couple of weeks ago, and I came back after driving for some time with "more" mileage/% than I had when I left.

Monitor your kWH usage x battery capacity, and that'll be a better indicator - but that could change on a given drive for a myriad of reasons.

That’s just normal charge termination inaccuracy. Once you start driving it gets a better read on the SOC. Nothing’s wrong.

The SoC algorithm during charging could use some work.

Thanks! I’ve noticed small changes before and attributed to that, but losing 4% in the first minute today was startling. Appreciate the response.
