I use a Ford Connect Charge Station 48 amp installed in my garage and have only fast charged once and rarely charge to 100% Is a loss of roughly 5% of range normal? I have a 2022 Mache AWD.

The mileage estimator in the car is not like an odometer - it varies based on outside temperature, recent driving behavior, and other factors. In other words, you can't look at it today at 100% charge, see how many miles it is estimating, than do it again six months from now to see how it has changed - it doesn't work like that.

To see how much your battery has degraded over time, you need to get an OBD-II device, download a free scanner app, and see what the maximum true capacity of your high voltage battery is.

I believe that the numbers that can be pulled from an OBD-II device also can fluctuate based on temperature and how long it has been since the battery was taken from single digits to fully charged.

There is no knowing the exact SOH, just guesses, some better than others.

How are you measure range loss? Hopefully not by the Guess-o-meter on the dash.

FYI: I had been keeping my SOC between 50 and 90% for the last several months. It almost always reported a calculated/theoretical 100% range of 270 miles, even though I suspected I was capable of more than that. Last week, I let it get down below 10% charge and charged it to 100%. That reported 307 miles of estimated range. Did I really gain 37 miles of range? Of course not.

The next charge to 85% reported 244 miles of range (which would be 287 miles at 100%). Did I lose 20 miles of range in a week? Of course not.

Long story short, the range estimate is useful tool, but it's a terrible way to determine your battery health. And remember the range estimate is an estimate, and it's almost certainly wrong by some amount. You might have more range, you might have less. For me, the estimate tends to run conservative, unless I am on the highway doing 70+. Ford has also changed how the estimated range is calculated since launch. I'm not sure if that affected 22s, but I know it did for 21s.

5% in the first couple years is normal. And as others have said, the range meter on the dash is not a reliable determinant of battery capacity. You need to use a scan tool to read the state of health parameter.

as you can see from this thread....
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-analytics-crowdsourced-data-add-yours.38065/

dropping to 95% is par for course regardless of charging habits from what I can see in the data.

My ('21 Select AWD-SR) MME has 40k miles with 99% charged at home on 32amp L2, and SOH reported via ODB2 w CarScanner is bouncing around 95%.
