I got alarm trigger due to inclination warning while at airport yesterday I believe I was inside but missed alert came out weird van parked next not in space but as they were waiting for someone I just thought it weird then saw warning today on app. Nothing done that I can tell I had that weird veteran feeling though and service members know exactly that feeling….been 20 years prob paranoid has this been addressed as an error or anything in forums past.

I've had that alarm twice. Both times were because the car was being jacked up to work on the tires, so the car did have inclination.

Maybe the alarm deterred a wheel theft attempt?

I have two friends that left cars in long term airport parking that had their wheels stolen and replaced with cheap wheels. One was about 30 years ago and the other about 20 years ago. I always thought that was the weirdest thing to steal and what kind of thief could do that without attracting attention? Even funnier to me that they put other wheels back on.

@nickloveslions, maybe consider this one a small victory?

only time I got this was when it was at discount tire and they were jacking up the car to fix a flat.

The more I think about this, check your lug nut tightness in case they actually got an impact wrench on a wheel and check the underside of your MME for any marks that a jack attempt was made.

The MME has special jacking requirements so a tweaker thief would likely cause damage, but an organized theft ring may have proper equipment.

They jacked it up because they were trying to steal your wheels or catalytic converter.

I've gotten it twice for no apparent reason. Both times I was parked on the street, and immediately assumed I was being towed.

Interesting. I second the suggestion to look for any marks on the underside that could indicate your car was jacked up in the garage.

There could be a more benign explanation, however. I have parked in some garages where the whole garage vibrates/shakes, e.g. when a big diesel truck is rumbling in the vicinity. In an extreme case that could probably trigger the sensor. Ever lived somewhere with particularly strong thunder/lightning? A thunderstrike nearby will set off lots of parked car alarms for similar reasons.

Perhaps, but the sensor is really focused on tilt angle rather than vibrations like most other car alarms. I've tried rocking the car and it doesn't ever set it off, you really have to jack it up so the tire is almost off the ground before it goes off. So I think the inclination alarms are mostly legit. You would need a ton of movement to set it off.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the perp jacked up the car only to discover there's no catalytic converter and moved on.

I was pulling into my driveway at time of alarm but cobra time could’ve been off
