To be clear, residents of Florida and California are not permitted to buy discounted extended warranties from online Ford dealers. This is law in both states. He is in Massachusetts...
I appreciate your information and the help with your response. Do you have any references on that. I just looked a little online and I'm not seeing anything that prevents me from purchasing discounted extended warranties from online Ford dealers in Florida. Any help you can provide on this will be greatly appreciated.

I bought the warranty. And am thankful. I take the car in next week for repair of the finicky radar system that causes Blue Cruise to fail. My car is past the 3 year warranty period and I'm sure that this one repair alone will pay for the cost of the warranty.

I saw someone say that they hadn't bought warranties in the last 30 years. I bet that none of those were radically new cars. This car is nothing like Ford has ever done before so it makes sense to be covered.

I’m still vacillating on whether I should get an extended warranty. On the one hand, the only car I ever bought one for (was forced to by my parents as a sub-adult) I voided the powertrain part on immediately. On the other hand, there are a lot of complex systems on this car that I do not have the inclination to work on. ?‍♂?

I am out of my factory bumper to bumper and my outside lock button on all pillars has stopped working. So I already have 1 item for extended warranty. I plan to wait for a few items to bring it in and get done at once.

I haven’t found extended warranties useful in the last 30 years of owning cars. Except maybe I should have gotten one for my 2001 Corvette.
It’s like a friend of mine bought a 65 inch TV he told me I got the extended warranty for five years for only $100! And I’m like the TV will probably last at least 6 years and then you can buy a brand new one for 400 bucks?

I am inclined to agree. I can’t recall buying any my new cars without some extended warranty but I honestly can’t remember using those extended warranty.
I've owned around 25 cars and 25 motorcycles in my life, the mach is the first car I bought an extended warranty for. I highly recommend going to flood ford site and use the ESP calculator there, if nothing more than as a negotiating tool at the dealer (I did that). Dealers pricing on ESPs seems to be "as much as we can charge". https://www.floodfordesp.com/esp_pl...charge5=0&Multi=&Surcharge3=0&Submit=Continue

Again, he's in Florida. Florida dealers have no reason to negotiate, as you have no other options.

didn't see it until after I posted. And just one more reason not to move to FLA.

Honestly the only restriction I see is that the warranty seller (regardless where they are) has to be registered with the Office of Insurance Regulation. This org has a tool to look up the warranty seller to make sure they are registered I’ve found none of the dealerships (in Florida) where I’ve bought auto warranties listed in that database. So does that mean these dealerships broke the law by selling me a warranty? But I looked up Ford and it’s in there.

I did a little bit of reading about this and it's pretty complicated. I'd try the floodford calculating tool to see if you can generate a quote, and at the least use it in negotiation with your local dealer.

some have also been known to use an "address" in another state (a city hall, etc.) which then allows them to complete the online purchase. This address isn't used for anything once the purchase is complete.

My general policy is buy no additional warranty on anything.

Compulsory motor insurance, household buildings & contents insurance and crucial business insurance is all I will buy.

I reckon I am £thousands ahead by sticking to that.

A checkout operator once asked me “do you want extended insurance on that?”

A £13 iron.

I asked “ are you mad?”

I bought the Ford extended warranty. Some peace of mind hedge against an expensive electronic malfunction. And I get 4000x more pleasure from the Mach-e than from an iron ?
