FYI, while traveling yesterday the in-car navigation began showing compatible Tesla Superchargers as an in route charger option. i don't know how complete the list is but the one it chose in route guidance yesterday was one that has only been open for a few months.

progress.

Can you search for them too to get a list? If so, at what tags / words?

So far I'm only seeing Magic Dock Superchargers show up, as of right now I still don't see any adapter required stations in the Ford nav. ?‍♂

The station you saw was probably a new Magic Dock location. Can you tell us which station it was exactly?

Traveling to Yosemite yesterday and tried looking for a Tesla charger on Ford nav - didn’t show up. Is there a recent update?

this site outside chemult, or - as i noted it's brand new (opened aug 7, 2024), was not in the in-car nav on october 8 but was on october 27. it is a v4 dispenser site (v3 cabinets) and has magic dock adapters but the dispenser will not release them for use. tesla's site notes that NACS adapter is required as does the in-car nav. i've used it a few times and it's perfectly located on hwy 97/hwy 138 intersection with pull through stalls.

the station shows in the list (below) of chargers from the in-car nav. in the radius of those stations there are at least 15 other compatible superchargers (mostly along I-5) that are not shown; at least one of those is another v4 dispenser site and opened in the last year. tesla appears to have stopped magic dock deployments awhile ago and there is some chatter that some magic dock locations are not releasing them any longer.

the magic dock location in boardman, or on I-84 i've used before also doesn't show in the in-car nav.

the additions don't seem to be systematic but random. it will be interesting to find out where others see sites added.

you can put "tesla" in the search text box and it will show lots of tesla answers including superchargers, destination chargers, and service centers. having tesla charger sites show up as destinations has been there for some time now; not sure when i first noticed it since it was clumsy and had little utility to me.

when i've searched by "tesla supercharger" in the past it was hit and miss in showing sites and still is as of today. in the past, the navigation didn't treat the site as a charger just as a destination. now it looks like it may have more information that it is a charger but some of that information is incorrect (incompatible chargers showing in "Ford Network" for instance).

the main issue i am highlighting in this thread is that the navigation selected a tesla supercharger in its route selection during a drive. it has never done that before; at least for me. i've been able to navigate to a supercharger in the past but not have it select one for the route.

My car has 10.1.1 and I'm on Google maps 11.152.0100. When this feature first rolled out, the supercharger in Tucson was not showing up. However, I just confirmed yesterday it does show up now.

Test method: with phone connected to AA, use the car screen to search for a destination far away. Maps will auto plan charging stops along the route per the current battery status. You can scroll down on the list of suggested charging stops and click replace. It should then drop pins on valid charging stations that will work.

Maps has a filter to disable L2 chargers from showing up. However, it will still show any charger 50kW or more. Google maps classifies them as "fast" and "super fast". I haven't found a way to filter out the "fast". I learned this as this past weekend I left caution to the wind and let Google Maps plan my charging for me. It had me stop at an EvGo charger in Casa Grande. When I plugged in and didn't see it charging fast, I looked and noticed it was only a 50kW charger.

I will say this new feature is pretty dam useful. For super long road trips, I'll probably still use the ABRP website just to get a general view of the charging situation. It will be interesting to see if Google Maps is further enhanced to have it auto suggest charging stations when it's not connected to the car (which would require a user specified state of charge before leaving).

Did you use the Oakhurst Tesla Superchargers on your way up/down Yosemite ?

I just got my adapter today, and can confirm there are indeed some local Tesla superchargers listed now in the onboard navigation... but oddly not the one closest to my house... which DOES show up in the Ford app. /shrug

I use Apple Maps more commonly anyway, and I've added the Supercharger network to my options there. Just another reason to use that navigation, I suppose.
