How do I find upgraded Tesla Superchargers?
The easiest way to locate an upgraded Tesla Supercharger is to search using the FordPass®* App or Public Charging App on your Ford Electric Vehicle’s touchscreen. They will automatically filter by in-network, upgraded Tesla Superchargers, and let you know when your Fast Charging Adapter is needed.

Your Fast Charging Adapter allows charging at upgraded Tesla Superchargers. Look for Tesla Superchargers that have peak rates of 250+ kilowatts (kW) and an all-black charge cord and handle.

Find Superchargers with FordPass

1. Open FordPass.
2. Tap View Chargers.
   • If you are near a charging station, FordPass will display the station's details.
   • If you are not near a charging station, FordPass will display a list of chargers in your area.
     Note: You can also locate a charger manually by entering its address on the charge list screen.
   • Tesla Superchargers will be labeled "Adapter Needed."

Find Superchargers with the Public Charging App

1. Tap the Home icon on your vehicle's touchscreen.
2. Select Public Charging.
   • The closest chargers to your vehicle's location will display.
   • Tesla Superchargers will be labeled "Adapter Needed."
   • Incompatible chargers will be labeled "Station not compatible" with a red alert.

If you have not received your adapter
If you have not received your Fast Charging Adapter, or if you don’t have it with you, select the Filters button in FordPass or the Public Charging App and tap Hide stations needing adapter.

Annette, once i find the UPGRADED Tesla Chargers on the FordPass App or Public Charging App, how do I set the car so it preconditions the battery on the way to that Tesla charger?

for those intent on using a supercharger, many times other CPO sites are near a supercharger so you can set navigation to the alternate site and get preconditioning that way. a bit of extra work - easier if you have a co-pilot to help.

I frequently charge at an EVGo station where 20 feet away are tons of Tesla SC in the same parking lot!

I'll tell it I am going to EVGo and then just drive up to a Tesla SC!

Now if my adapter from A2Z or Lectron shows up...

I did not miss anything about preconditioning. You can find the answer directly on the FORD website. NOT ALL TESLA SUPERCHARGERS are open to Ford charging, plain and simple. You can't precondition until the chargers we can use appear in the navigation app, which is what I stated earlier and others have said in various threads. The SCs will not appear in the navigation app until later this year. So as we have mentioned before, you will need to navigate to a nearby non-Telsa charger if you want to precondition before arriving at the Tesla charger and then make your way to the SC.

After I down loaded that update it told me i need one more update to use the adapter at the Tesla charging stations. That update is not yet available.

it should show up in the Charge Assist app - try tweaking the "Filter" and look for the "Hide stations requiring adapter" toggle:

sorry, i can't help with that.

your current options are the fordpass app, tesla app, plugshare, ABRT, chargeway (maybe others). all of those are currently showing tesla stations with NACS adapter and magic dock filters. i'd be a little cautious with the later three since i'm not sure whether they're getting actual location availability from tesla or just going by open source data.

I don't have either of them either, and I am on the latest software update that included the Tesla updates.

Yes. More stations have been trickling In over the last week. Some need software, some need hardware, some are being held back. We don’t know what all the criteria are.

randomly spotted as far as i can tell. i haven't found any publicly available canonical source of machine-readable data with enough details from tesla to perform any comparisons with. even supercharge.info still only shows a filter for magic docks, not NACS-enabled sites.

Received my A2Z adapter today!

How long after ordering did it arrive? I ordered over a week ago and no updates on shipping yet.

Ordered February 29th with a 15 to 20 business day shipping estimate. We have a long road trip starting March 30, so we really wanted the adapter in time. If they shipped in 20 business days, we might not have gotten it in time. I called them March 7th and paid $15 USD for express shiping, with an estimated shipping date of March 22; plenty of time. They ended up shipping it March 11 and we received it the next day. Not sure why they shipped it so early; likely because i called them.

I haven't tried it yet, but will soon! I expect it will be a game changer on my upcoming trip. Good luck.

Good to know - I'll give them a call on Monday. I have a trip coming up that I wanted it for also.
