3FMTK1SS4MMA51091 please and thank you so much!

New to me 2021 almost out of the 3yr warranty. Dealer just did the 24B42 Powertrain control module CSP. I will probably need to go the FDRS route.

Your car is on Sync 23291 which is just one version behind the latest one. The updates needed to update to the most recent Sync have not been released for your VIN yet, so getting FDRS won't help with that. Your car was either heavily favored by the OTA process or manually updated with FDRS at some point, because you do not show a lot of pending updates. Your car is actually close to being fully updated. FDRS will allow you to install the new IPMA software that improves driver assist performance and will allow you to enable the new BC features with FORScan, but aside from that, you aren't missing anything major. You're showing a BCM update pending that may be the one that enables walk away locking, but FDRS won't allow you to do that one either without NFTSA credentials. Fortunately, the 2021 you bought is not one of the ones that got stuck on old software.

Javier,
Thanks for looking all this up and the advice on FDRS. This makes me feel much better about the software state of the car. When I bought it in October I asked the dealer to check for any updates. Also the previous owner was in sales at the dealer so he may have pushed for the updates. Walk away locking does work fine. One OTA update that I'm hoping for is the charge state communication to Android Auto for preconditioning.

Hello everyone:

I wanted to ask you a question. I have a MME from 2022 (from October) and it turns out that I do NOT have any pending updates in FDRS. However, in the PTS OTA console there are two pending updates that are pending (failed), and not loaded with FDRS (I can't).

Does anyone know why this happens?

Is it possible to fix it?

Let me know. I am attaching the FDRS and OTA views in PTS.

Regards

I believe you need the latest APIM for that, but somebody here can confirm that if I'm wrong. In your case, you'd need to wait for Ford to release a GWM update you need before the APIM will release for your to be able to get it OTA or install it with FDRS.

Edit: Mike pointed out to me that WAL is enabled on these cars from factory. That is not the case with the Lightnings, so I thought it was the case with these cars, too. Not sure what the BCM update actually does.

In PTS, go to the failed update and click here circled in red in the failed APIM update and it will open that box on the left. Location F188 is where the strategy file is.

Then go to FDRS and click the APIM here. Scroll down to the bottom to where it shows all the location and files in the module and look for F188 to see if the file in the location matches the one in the OTA. If it does, then the update is already installed. If FDRS shows a newer file than what the OTA was supposed to give you, then you're also good to go.

Or message me the VIN and I'll check.

Hello! You have all been such a help to me over the years. I have yet another question.

My car shows alerts on the dashboard and the app says I have a powertrain failure and high voltage battery warning. Weird that it happened less than a month after my second HVBJB replacement, but that is besides the point...

In another thread people are told to post their VIN here if they receive those errors. I'm sure I'm missing something, because I suspect I would need an ODB reader first, right?

In any case, if there is something you can tell with just my VIN, like is it even safe to drive my car before I can make an appointment to have it looked at, I would really appreciate it! My VIN is 3FMTK3SU1MMA45083.

This is the code that seems to be the culprit:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 1732407443376-h7

This code was reported at 11:37am. Since then, your car has reported itself two more times, and the other times, this code was not there. Are you still getting the hard faults on the dash, or did they go away?

3FMTK3SU5RMA39942 just picked up our 24 Mach e premium last Monday the 11th I always like to see if stuff is up to date but main reason is the welcome lighting and walk away lock stopped working after only two days? Would be great if someone could tell me how out of date my brand new car is lol

There is an RFA update (Bluetooth). Might be related.

The hard faults are still on the dash. The other two times, if they were close together, could have been other times I started the car. I went out just now to check again, and it is the only time I have started it since yesterday.

Is it safe to assume I need to bring this to my dealer? Any other thoughts as to what I can/should do?

And THANK YOU for getting back to me! I really appreciate it!
