Ford could be issuing fines to the supplier all day….doesn’t get the adaptors they are not manufacturing made any faster.
I’ll go one step further. There’s zero requirement that a Mach-e owner have a NACS to CCS adapter. The car still charges fine on CCS systems. Go buy one on the open market if you need one. A2Z and Lectron are still selling them.

Those who said offering the adapters for free was a mistake were absolutely right. No good deed goes unpunished.

Ordered my NACS adapter March 1. "Estimated Ship" date keeps being moved to later month after later month. Was hoping in March to at least have it for December holiday trips, but I guess not.

What is happening with these adapters that takes over 9 months to deliver? Sure; they're "free", but promising anything to a customer, even if "free", and never delivering the promise is crappy.

If only Ford had some business savvy people who could have written up some sort of supplier agreement that would hold the supplier accountable for meeting certain delivery deadlines...

And maybe some sort of people who could communicate the status of supplier deliverys and compare it their scheduled deliveries to make meaningful updates....
I am sure they do. I am sure that is why they moved to other manufacturer's.

And ultimately you can just buy one!
Not everyone has the same ability to spend money freely, even on seemingly minor things. A "just buy one" mindset can overlook personal budgets and broader financial challenges. It's always good to approach these situations with empathy and understanding.

Did you, or anyone else, buy before the Supercharger announcement was made? If so, nothing has changed. People can still charge as it was at the time of their purchase. They haven’t lost a thing. If they bought after the announcement then it was incumbent upon them to determine how to access Tesla Superchargers.

There is that. And more honestly, if a $200 adapter is needed to make your roughly $50,000+ vehicle functionally usable for you….either you can afford $200, or you made a terrible purchase.

Only 6 months and they have a second singular vendor... Gold Star!

There is no guarantee Tesla would abide by such a contract even if there were one. I base this on the behaviors of their CEO.

And I suppose reindeer may really know how to fly...

But, it's fun to blame this on another company or person, but Ford made the choice to switch their charging standard, Ford made the choice to offer these adapters free, Ford made the choice to make a deal for the supply of these adapters....

I'm as frugal as the next guy, but spending under $200 for an adapter that you'll be able to sell easily next year is simply not a thing for an owner of one of these cars.

I had two Ford adapters, sold one for a lot more than $200. Guy knew it was high, but he said "the market is what the market is, and I want it now".

I think many of us already bought adapters while waiting for the free Ford adapter. Maybe they should come up with a rebate program and just pay us out some $ for an approved 3rd party adapter. Then their queue would reduce significantly and they can let their black eye heal.

There are not that many actually making adapters of the quality needed.

Also, there may be some requirements/approvals from Tesla that need to be met.

FWIW, I bought my MME Rally in July and did not expect to get a free adapter at the time. I ordered the A2Z Typhoo Pro, and then had to wait as they worked through their backlog. I got in line for the Ford adapter when that deadline was extended, but my number is ~150K, so it will be an nice surprise when it finally shows.

Thanks for the laugh. US federal government made an agreement with the same bozo for 3,500 charging stations to be open to all makes (i.e. Magic Docks) by the end of this month...

CEO says "GFY". Even if you threw his ass in jail, the incoming orange person will simply grant him a pardon.

Correct. He says "GFY, I'm the richest man in the world. Sue me. Oh, and GFY".
