I'm really torn thanks to you, Mark! I was going to keep my '21 GTPE when my Options plan expires in January, but with your post and really thinking about how I'd be over paying for my '21 due to the balloon amount and its market value, I've been looking.

I found a dealer with a '24 GT and a Rally. I want the Rally due to a, hopefully, way better ride for the wife and kids. She complains whenever we take it over her car because you feel the bumps and blah blah. I like it, but what can you do.

The Rally wheels stink, in my opinion, like I've said before, but are easily changed. The interior white on the seat backs is just ... I don't know if I can deal with that lol. So now I don't know what to do and if the ride quality is maybe not that different just get a GT? Or explore a totally different car yet none really seem to check the boxes properly.

1PD on all the time and blended braking no matter what (I heard the Kias and Hyundais you have to do it each time you get in), BC is great for me and my commute (I don't know anyone else that does hands free? Super cruise, I think, but then no CarPlay?), smooth ride, and a nice interior. I also remember @Mach-Lee or someone else saying even though all these other cars say they are OTA capable, they can't do as many components as the MME so you still have to do dealer visits for certain ones. Being able to FDRS updates is nice, too, though maybe another brand just has OTA updates down pat (not counting Tesla as I'd only do the S and can't do no turn signal stalk, that's weird).

Sorry for doing this to you, Neil. ?

What color Rally you looking for? What is the best price you have gotten?

The one I found is Vapor Blue, which I like, and they're doing around $49k I think, same rebates as you on a lease. Other bummer is no pano roof, which my kids like lol. They also have a GT in green, if ride isn't that much better on Rally. Oh, and they're willing to do my last 2 Options payments, which is a nice cherry on top I didn't think I'd be able to get. They tried to roll it into the lease, but I asked if they can just take care of it.

Well then, you are getting a great deal like several of us have gotten. This ‘24 GT that I’ve been driving the last three weeks (1200+ miles already) definitely rides a bit smoother than my ‘21 did in whisper on the freeway. However I’m certain with all the reviews I’ve read that the Rally will ride even better. Have you driven either one? I asked about the color because the dealer I bought from has two rally’s both in white and didn’t know what you wanted. I’d go for it Neil. ?

HIJACK! HIJACK! HIJACK! HIJACK!

I traded my 2021 GT-PE for a 2024 GT with the Performance Upgrade. I got the dealer to swap the wheels and tires over like @markboris did. I was able to locate one of the last Grabber Blue Metallic GTs with a metal roof. And now I have 360 cameras, so I guess I have to stop making jokes about not knowing what they are. ??

Oh, and that new car smell! ??

HOW DID I MISS THIS?

Yep, the 2021 with the prototype headrest plastics is in the wind! ??

Got tired of waiting on a fix for the 5 second limit. The 360 cameras are a bonus and I get to have a metal roof. ??

Here's one that I thought of when out walking my K9 today. That alarm....does it still sound like a dying moose??

If you mean the car's security alarm, I have no idea what it sounds like. I never heard it on my '21 because the alarm was never activated.

Road noise comes from tires and replacing these windows won't change that.
I think I have to remove the rear seat and go full deadening on the rear wheel wells. I got the area under the trunk well, and under the rear seat but the wheel wells themselves are a bit more work to get fully at. I also want to try to deaden the front wells if it’s not a total nightmare.
Your car is looking great sir!

Have you made a call on the Eibach springs?

Thanks Erik! I don't sound deaden the wheel wells from the inside. I do it from the outside that way I can lessen the noise before it gets in the car. In my previous two Mach-E's I did go into the rear quarter panels and add sound deadening but it really didn't make any difference since I had already did the outside area (behind the felt wheel well liner). I did do under the rear seat which just pops off super easy, the entire floor of the cargo area and the doors. Haven't decided if I will drop the headliner to do the roof since my '24 has the metal roof. I normally do the roofs but this car requires the removal of the A, B, C pillars, besides the sun visors, grab handles, sunglasses holder. It is a lot to do for probably little return in deadening. Won't get rid of road noise. Plus Ford already has sound deadening material attached to the steel panels so not like it is that bad anyway.

About changing out the springs with the Eibach's like I did on the last car, that is still up in the air. I like the way the car rides right now. To me, it is a bit smoother than my '21 without the Eibach springs and about the same as with them. I would like the car to be a bit lower so might do it but I also have not decided on keeping with the tire size I am running right now. Might go slightly larger in diameter which then I would not want to lower it. I am always changing wheels/tires.... ?

Here is what I was talking about deadening the wheel wells. This is the rear of my '24 (did the front the same). First apply Dynamat ProX sound deadening material then Dynaliner 1/8" closed cell foam over the top of that. I've been doing this for over 20 years on most of my vehicles.

I see a trend here......
I've now done it as well. Blew the HVJB in my 22 GTPE and left with a 24 GT with the perf upgrade in Vapor Blue. I will miss Dark Matter Gray, but this color is growing on me and similar to yours it seems to change color depending on the lighting which is fun.

I appreciate your detailed breakdown of the differences, as I had noticed some of the changes but not all of them yet. For me, I don't know why but the heating seems much better, especially the steering wheel for some reason. Overall it seems to get to temp faster as well, which is nice for the winter in Ohio.

This is now my 3rd MME, but first time with the pano roof and Blue Cruise, so fun to have new things to experience!

Did you swap your charge port cover secretly to avoid the dimple? ??

Hey Evan, so you and I have had 3 Mach-E's. I wonder if there are many other members in this small group? ?

I have not noticed the heat being any different in my car yet but then it is not as cold here as it is where you are.

I would be interested to know if there are others out there! I swear I really didn't intend to swap so soon but the incentives were great and they gave me my trade pricing as if I didn't have the HVJB blown. Much better offer than the free Uber ride they were going to give me so I could leave the car for repairs since they were out of courtesy vehicles. ?

I thought about it. Wouldn’t have needed to be secret. The sales guy asked me if there were any parts I wanted to swap over because he knew some stuff changed. If I were on the ball I would have switched the 2021 metal rear cargo rings in place of the 2024 plastic ones. Not a big deal since they retail for less than $27 including sales tax for the pair. I even forgot one of my AOSK mats (the one in the console) and he walked up to me and gave it to me. This sales guy was super easy to deal with. ??
