I just had this experience at my dealership today. I just swapped my 2021 Premium AWD for a 2024, picked up last week. The new one came with the "protection package" which, according to the description online included the cargo cover. I noticed I didn't have it. I was picking up my plates today, and the sales person consulted with the sales manager that none of the cars come with them anymore. Before I left, she found one for me and gave it to me. Just another example of cheapening.
The rubber like rear floor cover? That is rather bad.

Actually, I bought a first year vehicle, knowing full well that I may be getting $50K worth of bugs and issues. Overall, I’ve been incredibly pleased with the vehicle.
same gamble here... and I feel like it has paid off.

Yup. See below. ;)

While I agree cause I’m a bit over 6’ tall, shorter people rather liked the second button.

When.

I have about a 40% success rate on the kick to open feature since new. I rarely attempt it any longer. The dealer says it checks ok. I think they’re right btw. I use PAAK on my phone which is usually in my back pocket when I need to kick to open. While driving the dealer’s mme these past few weeks I’m using the fob and kick to open works just fine. The fob is usually in a front pocket. If I have to pull my phone out of my back pocket to open the liftgate I’m just going to push the FordPass button on it or on my Apple Watch. I’ll not miss the feature.

Likewise.

???.

Feast or famine. I’m at 40%. Between the two of us we’re at a 75% average. :)
i must have the magic foot gene... I can make the hatch open with one kick every time... :sunglasses:

I often try to kick with my left leg which has an artificial knee. That might have something to do with it. I also use PAAK and my phone is usually in my right rear pocket, that may be more critical.

That means they would have needed to fix the suspension to not be a brick on bouncy tires. Until they come up with more travel it's not going to be close to luxury.
I was using “luxury” in the marketing sense, such as the phrase “after January 20, 2025, Walmart will become a luxury store.” ?

That’s why you buy the second model year. A lot of bugs worked out, but before the bean counters really get rolling.
I did that, but still lost park assist and kick to open

The front headlamp assembly - now standardized between all trims - features slightly different turn signals. Instead of many LEDs "smoothly" signaling the turn, it is now broken up into three segments. They still work sequentially and it is a minor difference, but it lacks the smoothness of the originals.

That segmented turn signal looks Kia/Hyundai to me. BUT, that '24 digital speedo location is awesome!

No one used the foot activated tailgate?

maybe that’s because you stopped putting it in the car after six months.

I LOVE that feature. It’s a reason why I would be hesitant to upgrade my car. Or if something happens to it I can’t have the feature anymore so maybe I should look around at other brands.

I’m not saying I would leave for that alone. But they removed one of my favorite features, so the new versions of my car aren’t “my” car.

The parking thing I only tried once or twice and it made me too nervous. And honestly I don’t really need it. Between that and the part shortage is I’m not surprised it never got any use. I understand removing that.

No more motion-activated tailgate, no more parking assist, removal of one of the tailgate buttons, the 3-segmented turn signals, etc. Our complaints seem quaint compared to all the ways BMW's beancounters cheapened the i3 over the years:

It’s Insane How Much Cheaper The BMW i3 Got Over The Years (And I’m Not Talking About Price)
What’s insane is thinking about how my 2021 GTPE had a sticker price of $69k and people were HAPPY to pay sticker because it was a “good deal.”

I’m glad the new cars have less options. They’re way cheaper, especially considering the 20% cumulative inflation we have seen since 2021.

Adjusted for inflation my 2021 would cost $82,000 today.

How badly do you want to get that hands free liftgate back? ?

If you want, I can add how I did this to the parking switch to my thread above. I mentioned it to a few people and no one was interested in using the parking switch for this.
I would also like this. /\

I have a 23 GT. (Born 09/23) I feel like I got a good deal but I could not have imagined the '24s being an even better deal.

I don't have acoustic glass on the side windows. Didn't really notice it much until it got cold. Now the wind noise is worse.

I do have the infrared block on the windshield. It's nice but does make my parking pass a pain. I could not get it to work. I have to lower my window and stick it out.

I just went and looked, I don't have a cover under passenger side under the glove box.

I do like my headlights more than the '24s.

I got no foot to open tailgate even though it mentions it near the button.

I have a park assist button that does nothing.

All that being said, I do think I got a good deal. 52K for a GT with 0% financing in March 24. Looking up the other EVs that I would like.... they are all a lot more. (Tesla was a no go)

The thing is, they are improving some things that I feel really matter and trying to cut what they think is the fat. '24 GTs all get magnaride. I wish I had that. Just 1K for performance upgrade now. Power lasts more than 5 seconds. I feel these features are worth a few losses. Now I do think they could offer some of these features they already have engineered as options. That would be nice.
