Hi Mike,

I just picked up my Mach-E yesterday, could you check my VIN, still learning a lot.

3FMTK4SX7RMA45676

Thanks
build date 15 Nov '24 GT with Perf Upgrd.

Wow, and just 18 miles so far. With a performance upgrade as well. Congrats on the new car!

Here's the list of available software for your VIN in FDRS:

PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB and SOBDMC are all part of the powertrain system and would be updated as a group whenever that happens (OTA maybe in the future?).

ACM is the radio module. No idea what that update is for.

The IPMA is the image processor and it's responsible for all imaging tasks including things like BlueCruise hands-free functionality.

The RFA is your Bluetooth module, so if you're having issues with your phone interacting with your car, that might get an update to address that issue (if you have that problem).

You have no OTAs in the queue at this time, likely because your car is so new they haven't started sending them to you yet.

Much appreciated :)
I wanted to check the 12V Battery SOC this morning for you but can't. When the original owner traded the car in neither they or the dealer have so far gone into Sync and performed a "Factory Reset" (used to be called a Master Reset) to clear out the owner's settings and customizations. As a result, the car is currently not displaying any reported info. This will resume just as soon as the factory reset is performed and you have setup FordPass and associated it with this car as the new owner.

HVJB replaced Sep '24, no issues reported by tech after extended road test. New tires.

Here's the list of available software in FDRS for this VIN:

Thank you so much for this sir, initial very short drive was great, finally going for a longer 130 mile drive this afternoon. Car and everything was great, except the dealer did not charge me up, I wonder if it was EVER plug in prior to me since it was also inside the dealer showroom.

Thanks for checking. Last I heard they expected to have it ready for me tomorrow, fingers crossed. I'll go look into how I can reset it so I'm ready when I pick it up.

Ummm..okay...you have zero OTAs in queue at the minute. But you've gotten 4 of them in the last two weeks.

And in FDRS it says if a tech (or somebody who looks like one) updates your instrument cluster, then a new gateway update will appear (maps arrive with gateway updates as well), and then a new APIM update (Sync) will become available.

Your next OTA update (I assume it should be the IPC?) hasn't been offered to your car yet. Could happen at any time, but usually they tend to only send out one update per week to a given lucky VIN.

Mike G, this is awesome work!

If I can trouble anyone to lookup my used 2023, which just had a FREE service at a local dealer for tire rotation, wiper motor check for 24S51, etc.

For months now, if I go into the synch menu, the car remains frozen on "checking for software updates" until I exit the screen. Even with leaving the key fob in the car, power on, and auto-shut-down disabled. The modem icon shows a mobile connection.

They noted the software has not updated for a "long time," but did not provide any reports. Stated they lack a qualified technician on site to update the car. Requiring a future booking for updates without me to be billed.

The VIN is 3FMTK3SU2PMA80347

Thank you, if anyone can give me any more info!

Apparently you must have gotten OTA 10.1.0 (APIM) and now have Sync 1270....let me know if this is not the case.

The reason I say that is the next OTA would/should have been 10.1.1 which is for the TCU...and that's the one that has failed to install four times, (22 Nov, 16 Dec, 31 Dec, 23 Jan). Which to me would warrant a service visit to discover/diagnose why the updates fail with zero information except repeated "triggers" to update and then nothing happens after that.

Your car's TCU is working, however, and the car is reporting health status and battery SOC for the 12V and HV battery whenever you drive. So there's that.

Here's the list of available software in FDRS for this VIN, and you'll notice that the TCU is in the list, and if that's updated the IPC (instrument panel) could be updated next. For the purposes of discussion the GWM, APIM, TCU, and IPC are all updated using a USB drive. And normally in that order.

Correct:
  • Sync 1270

I'm not sure where to check for the APIM as the software update screen does not proceed beyond attempting to get the latest software update status.

APIM = Sync

That software update check only lists OTA status and not any real details about what modules are involved. And it won't show you all the other available updates that haven't been carefully curated and crafted into precious gifts to be delivered sporadically.
