Is there any way to remove those?
FDRS (dealer service tech). There is a tool routine in FDRS called Read the Configuration Data that will read the car's configuration and restore the data to the cloud. Sometimes the reason the data blocks are there is that the data in the cloud is missing or corrupted. This tool restores the cars 'asbuilt' data configuration to the cloud from the car's current configuration. This may have happened as a result of the ABS module PMI the tech did back in November.

And the car has to be physically at the dealer to do that or could it be done remotely?

Physically there. He has to connect up with the FDRS laptop to sort this out. But it doesn't require using a powersupply and takes like 30 seconds. Could do it in the parking lot really.

Hi Mike,

Could I bother you another FDRS check? I missed out on the last one, didn't make the offer fast enough. This one is also a 2023 Mach E that I'm looking at.

VIN: 3FMTK4SE6PMA54137

Thank you,
Danny

23.5 model car, build date 15 Jun '23.
Car has no service history. No outstanding campaigns open. Current vehicle health is not available, since the original owner's data has not been cleared from Sync (needs Sync "Factory Reset" performed). Last OTA received was on the 17th of Feb for the APIM (enabled AM radio, "Priority Update 23-PU0907-RAD-ON").

Here's the list of available software updates in FDRS:

Hi all

Is anyone able to check 3FMTK3SU8PMA88534 specifically for any error that would affect BlueCruise activation/operation? Thanks...

Your car does not have an active BlueCruise subscription, so it won't work until you buy one.

Yes I'm aware. I had one but it now fails to re-activate and have spent hours with Connected Services to try and resolve. I'm trying to rule out any on-vehicle issue that would prevent the service being enabled.

The option to purchase has now disappeared from my Connect Services menu.

Build date 29 March '21.

This car has the original Sync Software revision that the car came with from the plant in March of 2021. It is entirely possible that the car was affected by the corrupted data issue (from an OTA) from that year that resulted in several TSBs and lots of headaches for owners for the next three years. Most of these cars had their APIMs replaced by now. If you take a look at the list of "Additional Updates" below the main list, you'll get an idea of just how far behind your car is.

I want to specifically point out that it's not just "Sync" that's affected by the lack of update progress that this data corruption issue caused. GWM (gateway), APIM, (Sync), and TCU (telematics modem) updates all need to be updated in the sequence shown so that other updates for things like the powertrain (in some cases) can be made available. It's a 'software dependency' thing.

And it's the big reason you aren't getting any OTAs...cause you're stuck. And until that gets fixed, nothing new and improved will be sent.

Mike thank you so much!

Can I do all this for FDRS or should I go to the dealership because it's so far back?

It's very possible the size of the gear shift knob changed slightly on the new car. It may not be as deep anymore. Part dimensions can change.
Yes, the dimensions of the knob changed for the 2024s. There have been reports of some 2023 Job2 cars with the same knob as the 2024, so possibly a mid-job change. 5Spurs tooled a different knob cover for 2024 cars. The AOSK knob covers should be about 1mm above flush with the knob in order to not interfere. ??

Well you can try to update the APIM using FDRS...but the problem was that the data corruption on the APIMs that got borked actually prevented the techs from doing it using FDRS the normal way.

So they were supposed to buy a selection of special USB and network adapters to kind of 'side-load' into the APIM to clear out the corrupted data. It's time-consuming and many techs just ended up replacing the APIM to fix the problem (the returned APIMs go back for lowlevel reprogramming that fixes the issue, and then they're put back into spares circulation).

Attached is the latest TSB that addresses this issue....but it's now no longer in effect and techs have been told within the last year to just follow the workshop guidance ...which generally ends with the APIM being replaced (RVC code issued).
