Thanks Mike! I've got one of those AOSK black metal rings on the shift knob. I will have to take a look and see if it is catching something.

I had a feeling it was something obscure.

Edit: It was. The code cleared once I reseated the cover and jiggled the shifter while it was in park. Thanks again, saved an embarrassing trip to the dealer.

There is a problem with the shift solenoid for the parking pawl. It can't retract due to some circuit failures, which means the car is stuck in park. You'll probably have to have it towed, and the the dealer will have to replace the parking pawl solenoid in the rear motor.
Just want to update and thank @MachLee , you were exactly right with ur diagnostic. After contacting Ford BEV, the dealership is replacing the parking prawl, 2 battery modules, and inspected the back motor to identify tearing leading them to replace parts in back motor; all under warranty. I called BEV and they have been in direct contact with BEV ever since. BEV contacts me to receive AND provide information on the process. Thanks again for all your help!

Hi all, I’m new to the group and just bought my ‘22 MME GT extended range. Dealer swore it was all up to date on FDRS. I’m not so sure. Might anyone please be so kind to check mine for updates? Thanks much!

Hi All, also new. I recently bought a '21 Mach-E and am currently on 6.1.4. Was wondering if there were any updates available in FDRS? Thanks!

Interesting, so the aftermarket gearshift covers are too long and can block rotation of the shift knob, I'll have to remember that one as a cause of P0929. I would suggest taking it off or pulling it up slightly if that is the case.

I ended up pulling it up slightly. I don't know if too big or if I lost some of the padding inside it when I moved it from my old 22 to my new 24. I am going to find some thin foam tape or similar to cushion it and raise it permanently. I vaguely remember there was some padding when I got them but it seems like there wasn't any padding when I reseated it today.

Overall it was just odd, I had no issues shifting in and out of park, I'm guessing somehow it just got in the exact wrong spot to provide enough resistance for the service vehicle soon to pop up. It cleared immediately after I adjusted it and jiggled the shifter without hitting the brake while in park.

It's very possible the size of the gear shift knob changed slightly on the new car. It may not be as deep anymore. Part dimensions can change.

Well, it's highly doubtful all of this arrived overnight:

Holy smokes! I knew they were fibbing. Thanks man, now to try to convince them to update me under my regular warranty while I have it. Thanks again for this

Can someone scan

3FMTK1S52RMA41094

And

3FMTK3SU9RMA49650 (VIN for my brother's vehicle)

It is included in the

Description
High voltage battery charging system software update
Campaign#
25B03

so might as well make sure there aren't any other components needing an update.

I'd tell your brother to wait until there was a SOBDM update available or they won't apply the 25B03 update. It says to specifically look for the SOBDM module as an available update. Without it they won't do anything. It's likely that your brother's car already had that update from the plant but was included in the VIN list anyway.

And don't be surprised if they just do the powertrain updates on your own car and nothing else.
