Hello,
I just bought a used 2023 Mach E with 14k and my first time on the highway I had issues. I used the Bluecruise for like 5 seconds and it stopped working on me. Bluecruise, adaptive cruise control and lane assist weren’t working at all. I found this thread and thinking I need some stuff updated. I eventually plan on taking it back to the dealer but so busy at work right now. Any help or insights would be appreciated. Thank you

You might be unlikely to find that your dealer or any dealer willing to update your car unless they can get paid for the work. This would either be self pay or finding TSBs that Ford would pay if you're still under warranty.

That said, and without being able to dig too deep, but going by your available module updates, you *might* have issues with the car stopping its charging session even though you've reached the target limit that can be addressed by TSB 24-2141. The tell tale sign is when Ford Pass says your car has reached its charge limit, but still see the blue LED light blinking on your charge port LED. The next time you charge your car, pay attention to this area.

You also seem to be behind with the latest Sync interface so there may be a lot more updates pending. I am also guessing you are also on the original BC 1.3 that came with your car. The updated BC 1.3 would make BC run a lot better.

Out of the few posts that I've responded to, you would probably see the most changes to your car if you get it fully updated via FDRS session. The equipment is a bit of an investment, but would save you a lot of aggravation dealing with your dealer.

I can only pull your updates from FDRS, but perhaps someone with PTS access can pull your historical DTCs, if any.

It’s very disappointing to hear that it might not be covered. Would these updates be covered under the blue advantage. I literally just bought the car yesterday. I can’t believe these things wouldn’t be updated before being sold.

Thanks. So no OTA.

What is the sequence for these updates?
In terms of priority from your list, it should be GWM, APIM, which will unlock the TCU. If after those two modules are updated and there are no more GWM or APIM updates, then do the TCU.

If you just want to try an easy one first, no dependencies, the DSP or RFA.

I wrote a guide for my first FDRS session below you can reference and modify as needed.

I guess you could dangle the possibility of returning your vehicle to the dealer as a way of greasing the wheels.

There isn't any incentive for Ford dealers to update the cars manually. New and used cars unfortunately sit on the lot turned off and so may miss update windows which causes the cars to be a bit out of date. Having the car turned off and not charging the 12v for long periods of time also doesn't help since updates required a specific 12v charge level before beginning. Once the car is sold and running it also all depends on when Ford decides to send you OTAs. You can't manually request it from the car. It's a headache if you want to wait for OTAs.

I'm the sure the more seasoned members here might be able to find other ways you can get upgrades performed by the dealer but it really is a hassle.

From my personal experience, even with a TSB that applied to my car, my dealer didn't do anything for multiple days. The car just sat there with no one looking at it even though it was promised it would be looked at. I eventually needed the car before they did anything, they had it for 4 days, and later on performed all the updates. I only needed 2 days to fully update my car, which was less time than it sat at the dealer.

@jpinFLX

You do have a DTC that points to a specific TSB with a remedy. I've attached that here. You have DTC U0565:86 as an error.

Hi folks,

Thanks in advance for checking for me. My VIN is 3FMTK4SX0PMA24441, and I do not seem to have had an update since 10.1.1: Enhanced Connectivity and Power Management. It seems there are others that should have been pushed out to me.

Sorry in advance for “double dipping.” After receiving the status in this forum previously I went to the dealer on Friday who said they did all available updates but I have doubts. Could someone check again for me? 3FMTK3SU8RMA36937
Thanks!
