We picked up a 25 Molten Magenta Premium RWD extended range today from Crossroads Ford in Apex, NC. We leased for 24 months with the .24% money factor and no money down. Payment is just under $600 with a 56% residual of $27821. Lease incentive is $6500 now and we got the free charger. We ended up selling our Forester to the local Subaru dealer for way more money than the Ford dealer offered on trade so we just sold the Forester outright and pocketed the cash. Crossroads has a diner built into the dealership and they fed us dinner which was nice because it had been a long day. We had a 80 mile trip home but we didn't get a chance to try out bluecruise or PAAK functions. We averaged 3.1 miles/kw on the drive home.

Pros
Molten Magenta is awesome and way more purple in person. More of a wine color than red.
Suspension is definitely softer than the 24's we drove a few weeks ago
Grey interior looks really nice with MM, I really thought this color would only look good with black interior
ventilated seats are a game changer
RWD extended range is quite a bit faster than we expected
wireless carplay is awesome
seats are very comfy. I am very seat sensitive and we ruled out the Model Y, Optiq, Equinox, and Lyriq just over seat comfort.
shifter on the column is easy to use and seems natural

CONS
Frunk is pretty useless now. big enough for smelly take out, mobile charger, or a case of beer on ice but not much else. having the frunk button on the remote doesn't make up for the slam happy double pop hood. Lightning gets it right.
Road noise is pretty bad with these Bridgestone Azensis tires on anything but smooth pavement. New model Y is like a coffin inside. Prologue and Optiq were quieter too.
the wireless charging pad is slow and just makes my phone hot
The processor for the main screen might be updated but is still slow. The most obvious examples so far are Carplay google maps when the screen can't keep up and when using the Youtube app connected to my home wifi, videos default to the lowest resolution. Its worth noting the factory nav screens and the apple maps screen operarte smoothly. It's just Google maps sattelite maps that are jerky.

Congrats. Looks great. The 6500 incentive is a combo ~3000 employee discount and 3500 incentive?

$6500 is the lease incentive, we got employee pricing and the free charger on top of that. The 24 month .24% money factor APR vs the 1.73% APR for 36 and 39 month leases saved additional money too.

IMO, the lease incentive will return to $7500 next month since these things are gonna start rolling into dealerships en masse. We would have waited but we needed to sell my wifes Forester before it turned over 100k miles and we ended up getting much more than we were expecting for her car.

Glad to see some finally getting to the dealers. I have a 2023 RWD Premium and ordered my 2025 early November. Was built March 13th but was held up in Milothian TX since the 17th of March. Just received a text this morning that if finally has shipped from TX. As for the frunk, honestly I even forget that I have that. I much rather have the heat pump over the larger frunk. In cold weather the 55 kw heating unit for the cabin and batter really cuts into your range.

Agreed, we will likely forget about the frunk. Personally, I would rather Ford just do away with the frunk and give the engineers better access for mechanics.

We bought this car as my wifes daily and for us to do some EV traveling with. Here are the improvements I would most like to see with this long range grand touring mindset.

quieter cabin (better tires would go a long way)
faster processor for the center screen and more entertrainment video streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc)
TOWING ability (even a small 1500lb class 1 hitch would be awesome)
Propower (the small 2400 watt inverter would be fine)

I would like to see Ford pivot away from the Mustang affiliation and lean more towards a more practical SUV image.

5 kW, not 55 kW.

I think that's what happens when Ford tried to fill multiple segments but only had one model. Ideally, there would be a Mustang EV that is a coupe and looks like a Mustang (though the current ICE Mustang's sales numbers argue against that) and a Ford Mach-E crossover like the Mach-E. Regardless, I like my Mach-E and don't give a crap about people saying it's not a "real" Mustang. My first "real" car (i.e., not driving mom's car) was a 94 GT and my Mach E would run circles around it.

Great to see the Molten Magentas out, can't wait to see one IRL. If the 24s had that color, I might have convinced my wife to get one instead of the EV6 (which she likes a lot).

Small correction: it’s a 5 kw electric resistance heater. 55 kW would mean your car is a rolling oven and the battery would be depleted in less than 2 hours ?

I’ll take a useable frunk over the 2.5T carrier heat pump they crammed in there any day of the week ?

Until @Ford Motor Company figures out how to package the heat pump hardware in the car and provide a frunk worth chillin’ in or provides a delete option, I won’t be getting an MME newer than my 2024. The heat pump means nothing to me. The frunk is my play room. ??

Can you share what the new key fob part# is for 2025s?
Part number for the Mach-E key fob with the hood release ('25 MY and up) 164-R8420
This key fob will have the Mach-E pony on the back side.

It is cheaper to purchase the Lightning key fob 164-R8304 which we have been doing for over 3 years and program it to the Mach-E since it does have a hood release switch. Instead of the pony on the back you get a blue Ford oval emblem and on the front, the switch for the liftgate looks like a truck tail gate instead of an SUV liftgate.

Thanks. I did see that - and i also saw an eBay seller swapping out the button but charging $125 for the fob. I was hoping maybe the MY25 would be the same price as unmodified lightning one but with matching everything, but i can't even find that P/N you mentioned.

It's a new part number (164-R8420) and probably only Ford dealers have it in their catalog right now. If you call a dealer, they can tell you the price but not until the part has been out awhile will it be in everyone's database.

Also, the blank key does not come with the fob so if you don't want to use it from your previous fob, you will have to buy one of those too. Part # 164-R8311

2023 GTPE
Bought my 23 GTPE used and only had one key. Just tried to order the 2025 key at the dealership. And the parts counter said the keys not compatible with the BCM. Is this possible or should I try another dealership?
