We picked up a 25 Molten Magenta Premium RWD extended range today from Crossroads Ford in Apex, NC. We leased for 24 months with the .24% money factor and no money down. Payment is just under $600 with a 56% residual of $27821. Lease incentive is $6500 now and we got the free charger. We ended up selling our Forester to the local Subaru dealer for way more money than the Ford dealer offered on trade so we just sold the Forester outright and pocketed the cash. Crossroads has a diner built into the dealership and they fed us dinner which was nice because it had been a long day. We had a 80 mile trip home but we didn't get a chance to try out bluecruise or PAAK functions. We averaged 3.1 miles/kw on the drive home.
Pros
Molten Magenta is awesome and way more purple in person. More of a wine color than red.
Suspension is definitely softer than the 24's we drove a few weeks ago
Grey interior looks really nice with MM, I really thought this color would only look good with black interior
ventilated seats are a game changer
RWD extended range is quite a bit faster than we expected
wireless carplay is awesome
seats are very comfy. I am very seat sensitive and we ruled out the Model Y, Optiq, Equinox, and Lyriq just over seat comfort.
shifter on the column is easy to use and seems natural
CONS
Frunk is pretty useless now. big enough for smelly take out, mobile charger, or a case of beer on ice but not much else. having the frunk button on the remote doesn't make up for the slam happy double pop hood. Lightning gets it right.
Road noise is pretty bad with these Bridgestone Azensis tires on anything but smooth pavement. New model Y is like a coffin inside. Prologue and Optiq were quieter too.
the wireless charging pad is slow and just makes my phone hot
The processor for the main screen might be updated but is still slow. The most obvious examples so far are Carplay google maps when the screen can't keep up and when using the Youtube app connected to my home wifi, videos default to the lowest resolution. Its worth noting the factory nav screens and the apple maps screen operarte smoothly. It's just Google maps sattelite maps that are jerky.
