It took a year to figure it out, but I found that I prefer the regenerative braking and steering feel of L in Whisper mode.
I tried that for a couple of months too. One of the differences (besides not bring the car to a full stop) is that the brake lights don't come on while the car is slowing in L - they only light up when you actually hit the brake. I ended up going back to 1PD maybe for the simplicity.

As an ex-mechanical engineer, I would hope you know that 2PD used the same blended mechanical brake/regenerative brake system as 1PD. You aren't going to save kaboodles (is that english or metric kaboodles?) using 1PD vs. 2PD.
I was unclear; I was referencing the savings relative to my previous ICE car. That said, I am under the impression that in 1PD you can slow and stop the car completely using only the motors’ regen and without engaging the mechanical brakes whatsoever. In 2PD, aren’t you initiating mechanical brake actuation whenever ther brake pedal is moved? Maybe motor regen is also involved, but I thought that in all instances the mechanical brakes would be involved too. So the savings in brake maintenance wouldn’t be as dramatic as compared to an ICE car, but some amount will still be saved if the driver learns to use 1PD effectively.
If there is a technical brief that explains how the two systems work, I would love to be provided a link for it.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. My understanding was that the brake lights come on when the car senses a certain degree of deceleration via onboard sensors. This only happens in 1PD mode?

I feel like the 1PD isn’t aggressive enough on the deceleration. I wish we could modify this.

Try unbridle mode and see if the decel is more to your liking in 1pd.

I didn't notice a difference between this and Engaged. I'll have to give it another go then. Thanks!
