Been reading the posts and awaiting arrival of my MME Premium ER. I had an estimated delivery of 2 /24 (2/18-2/24 according to my dealer). It was pushed back last week to 3/17 -3/13. Just reviewed the Ford Tracking website today and it's now showing 5/25. How does that happen with like no explanation? Also, the VVR I got from my dealer seems to have limited information compared to what I've seen other people post. No info on rail car, build date, holds, etc.

My details:
-Premium ER, white
-Ordered 7/31/21

-With the change to a '22. I added the Ice White package on 11/1/21 (supposedly without losing my place in line)
-Loooong list of modules on the motorcraft service website
-Ford Tracker says "In Production 01/03/2022 (no further updates)

I've contacted a couple of dealers in Orange County, CA regarding their online advertised MME. Apparently, it is their common practice to online advertise specific VIN MME, including those "in transit" and those yet to be built "coming soon". For those in transit, I've been told they are already obligated and, therefore, not for sale to me. So, my experience is that your assumption is not likely to be correct and that you should contact the dealership.
Ford and their dealers is hardly unique in this practice. The Bolt EV I ordered back in 2016 was listed on my dealer’s website for several weeks before it arrived and I could buy it.

If the window sticker is available on the website, it is pretty easy to determine if they are in transit or still being produced.

See the highlighted number? That’s the date that the car was ”sent“ to the plant to be built. Actual production (assembly) happens a week or two later. If that date is less than 6 to 8 weeks ago, there’s no way the car is on the lot.

This from my window sticker, btw. My production week was 1/3/22, and the car was supposedly built 1/4/22. It has been in limbo ever since then.

My "built" bubble populated in the Ford Tracker app. Nothing else changed-still showing delivery of 2/26....Went to production 1/3. Ordered 7/10....

Dealer texted me last week saying that they expect it 3/12 but was vague when I asked about VVR and price protection.....

My friend says the $500 deposit was worth it for the entertainment value alone. I keyed his Q7 :)

@ponydsp and I have chronicalled over the past week our MMEs arriving in KC and moving eastward on NSouthern. I suggest you look back through our threads. VOLTZ is the name of the NSouthern automobile transfer yard in northeast KC. Your VVR will now have a railcar number for a NSouthern railcar. @ponydsp summerized how to use the NSouthern customer service system.

Yes, dealers are putting on their websites incoming (not yet on the lot) MMEs and other vehicles. If the website provides a window sticker for your MME it'll say Special Order along the bottom. The website text might say "pending arrival" or "off-site inventory". They're not actively selling or proposing to sell YOUR car but people will call the dealership about it, then be told "That's a customer special order car, it's not here yet. Can we interest you in what we do have ...?"
No, Ford is doing this. This happens all the time.

That's right...... After a certain number of commercial clicks they will release your car earlier :)

A bit of disappointing news... per my dealer's information, I was hoping to get my MachE today, but they called me this morning and told me it had not arrived. I asked them to pull a vehicle readiness report (I think I may have asked for the wrong thing - I believe it is a VVR), and they told me it is still in Kansas City.

They did tell me that it would probably arrive by the end of this week, but if it is truly in KC, then it's been stuck in KC for the last week at the Voltz shipping yard, and I would be shocked it if arrived by this Friday. I explicitly asked if the vehicle was on any sort of hold, and they told me there was no hold and that it was in transit.

A little disappointing, and I'm not sure why the car has not moved if it is truly in KC. Perhaps Ford or the shipping company wants to wait until the train fills up with more cars before they start to move it? Who knows.

At any rate, I've been a pain in the neck calling the dealership every day for the last few days, so I'm just going to chill and wait until Friday. Hopefully there will be some movement by then.

Very similar experience. Original order for Premium, ER, placed 7/10/2021, converted by Ford to 2022 on 9/27/2021. We also opted for a different color, and were assured by dealership it wouldn't effect, or slow down our order. Build week 01/03/2022, Batch 003316, 279/540. I also followed module installation closely, so knew the car was being assembled.

Ford sent email on 1/21/2022 advising that car was being shipped, with estimated delivery 2/4/2022 - 2/10/2022. Contacted dealer several times to request update. They were unhelpful. Kept checking ford.shop.com site and palsapp daily. All of a sudden on 2/1/2022 the Ford site showed delivery date was moved back to 3/6/2022. I emailed the Manager of Internet Sales to ask if she could provide any updated information. I asked her, as I had asked other dealership staff, to just check the VVR or DORA. She did respond and sent a screenshot which showed my car had shipped by rail from Cuautitlan to KC by rail, and was parked on Ramp 6 as of 1/28/2022. The screenshot included a convoy number, but every time I check palsapp using the number it just shows the car sitting in KC with shipping 'pending'.

So, I share your frustration. I fully expected delays. But, it has been 7 months. The complete failure of Ford to provide simple, one-click, customer access to order processing, and shipping updates just adds to the frustration. Even tiny, mom-and-pop, home-based businesses provide that level of customer support. I don't regret the decision to purchase a MME, and can hardly wait to complete the purchase. But I will be upfront about the complete lack of customer support and communication, both from Ford and from the dealership, to anyone who asks.

.
Could you give more details on this. I usually enter VIN in palsapp. Did you use some different form?

Can you post your Palsapp screenshot? I want to compare it to mine... our cars may be sitting next to each other on the KC shipping yard ?

Let's assume that your MME has left the Norfolk Southern VOLTZ. The dealer's VVR now can't provide you any better updates than you can get yourself by calling the Norfolk Southern customer service number/railcar tracing. Follow the simple instructions summarized by @ponydsp in post #925 on this thread.

To do this, you must be given the railcar number provided in your VVR. The number is four capital letters followed by six numbers. The railcar tracing tool won't update every day; instead, when the train is scanned at a major depot.

Ok, this makes me feel a lot better about it. Not sure what the major rail stations are, but if it's in a straight shot from KC to Newark the car could likely be closer than I think. I've been harassing my dealer for the past few days so I'll give them a break. If the car isn't in by Friday I'll ask for the rail car number.

What did the very first palsapp screen show? Was it Newark, or new castle, DE? If it were Newark, then yes, it'll be a straight shot to Newark.
