UP automated line said my car is Constructively Placed. Another step closer!

Mine is also Constructivley Placed, pretty sure we are on the same rail car lol, called my dealer for an update to see if they have more visibility on a time frame and got crickets.

"Constructively Placed" -- what a cute name for a step in shipping/transit. What does it mean? Loaded onto a train car? Unloaded into a parking lot? Lined up by colors? ?

I did look this up online and it appears to mean “When the railroad tries to deliver a railcar and the customer cannot receive it for one reason or another, the railroad places it in CP or constructive placement status. This means that they are washing their hands of it and the demurrage clock is ticking. Actual placement or AP is when the railcar is placed or spotted on the customer’s property.”

Sell car now or wait?

I have an appointment to sell my current car this week, it’s a Recent model RAV 4, fairly good MPG and barely any miles on the odometer. I will have a gas guzzler to drive until I take delivery of my EPONI which is currently sitting at Muncie Ramp 6U. I’m a little cautious though after Reading about the forum member who had their vehicle sold by a dealership somewhere in Cali. Who has sold their current vehicles in anticipation of receiving their Mach e? I have spoken to my dealership Autonation Ford Valencia, and they assured me I will pay msrp. I don’t have anything in writing.

I would hold off until you actually own the Mach e, it's never a good idea to count your chickens before they hatch.

Things can go wrong during transportation or just a defect in the vehicle that wasn't caught during inspection.

Same here. I called the line 3 times yesterday (and once this morning) and it is just sitting in East Decatur, IL since 5/8 at 12:43 am.

It's taken 4 days to move 500 some odd miles and that's about a third of the way to CLT. Luckily, there is a Northfork southern terminal in CLT (who knew)? I drove past a few Ford dealerships close by yesterday and their lots are looking quite thin.

Hopefully, it won't be another 8 days to move the next 800 miles. My hopes are to see it this weekend. Friday will be exactly 1 month from the ship date.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since mine left KC and it has yet to be unloaded from train for delivery in NJ. Hopefully you have some better luck
