1/17/22 Build Week Chat

I think that also has to do with the trim level you order. Select and CA Rt1 are generally built faster. I assume they need fewer chips. That's probably why the original estimated delivery time is 8 weeks sooner for these trims compared to Premium and GT. It also makes sense from the operational point of view. A $1 chip can stall completion of a $60K car. They can ship more Selects and CA Rt1s with fewer chips which brings in more sales and profit.
Thank you for the explanation on trim levels. My salesperson told me that it made business sense to move the cars to another location rather than stoping the building of them. Then when the chips are received they can put them in for shipping. I have read before that trim levels make a difference but someone got a GT a few days ago after ordering in July of 21. Still all a mystery to me. Just hoping the chips get here before long. ?

I just received an email from Ford that my vehicle is ready for purchase....does that mean it is at the dealership?!?!

Congratulations ?
I'd call the dealership to confirm. What do you see on shop.ford.com?

I don't think you ever see any pcm modules. I've got 994 lines of BCE modules, so it looks like it is built (at least as far as that part). However, my eta moved from 3/20 to 6/18. Sad face.
@MrClean Just found today my BCE modules started populating. I also see 994 lines. Have you gotten any more BCE modules since your post? My MME is a GTPE (no glass roof).

Does anyone know how many modules are required for each configuration? I ordered a GTPE with bluecruise. Group 3713. Delivery date pushed back to 5/31. Can I simply copy/paste into Excel and count rows? If so, I have 1,812 but I don't know how many remain so that doesn't feel very satisfying...

Congratulations! Looking awesome!

Did they honor the original MSRP for model year 2021 (prior to the $2000 increase)? Did they give you the $750 incentive from Ford for converted models? Did you get x-plan?

Looks great!

I feel like that was the last gtpe to make it off the line with chips. Super jealous.

Wait, what....

Did you have any paperwork for 2021 pricing? I thought dealerships were honoring pricing at the time the order was placed?

I hadn't printed my 2021 order, and it was placed online back in September, so I didn't have the 2021 $ amount.
I know many are upset by this, but I do have a 22 and not a 21, so I guess it doesn't bother me too much that I had to pay the 2022 price.

Just got back from my dealer since I needed to find out what the actual delay is since the Ford tracker still shows my car "In Progress" since 1/25 and the delievry date is still estimated as 3/8 which is just shy of two weeks away.
Well my buddy the sales manager showed me the VVR where is showed the car was built on 1/22 and finished on 1/25 then sent "Off Site"
I asked if that meant chip hold but the VVR said vehicle is complete.
So now I sit in Off Site hell waiting for a glimmer of hope it will eventually shows up at the dealership

Yikes. Not sure if that is better or worse than chip hold...
