Not for me. My original estimated delivery was 03/21/22 for as long as the vehicle status was "in production". Once "built", it got updated to 04/05/22.

Going to add a 100amp sub panel in my garage. more than likely go 20+ slot for future expansion and the potential of adding a second EV charger. Already need the sub panel for the build out of my wood shop.

Because of the accessibility of the new sub panel I think I'm going to do hardwire a larger than 40 amp charger

What are you guys going with on chargers?

Haven't done much research yet but was thinking the Wallbox 48, Juice Box 48, or chargepoint flex

The fastest home chargers are 48 amp as you're finding.

You need a 60amp breaker.

You should check with your electric company to see if they sell discounted chargers, or provide a rebate if you buy a certain make/model. Mine gives $500 for buying a JuiceBox or a ChargePoint Flex. I went with the JuiceBox 48 charger. Reasons:

1) $500 back
2) Smart charger, app interface, can change it to any amperage 48 or below in seconds in app. App provides data per session, and keeps a history.
3) 25' cord. Careful - because models sold at places like Costco and other big box stores are a 20' cord. Or less... My electrician-provided (authorized distributor) was 18', JuiceBox said it was a production mistake and sent a new one with a 24' 3" cord, plus connector.
4) If you get another EV, you can buy a second identical JuiceBox 48 charger, and use the same circuit. The chargers will see which vehicle(s) need charging, and either split the charge or only give it to one vehicle if the other is not needing a charge. If they both charge, then one gets full, the other charger will ramp up. Rarely would we need to do more than a few hours charging for any one vehicle.
5) Support - directly from JuiceBox. No idea of the support from ChargePoint, but their main business is selling chargers to businesses. No experience with Wallbox.

Yeah I'm down to juicebox 48 or charge point flex. As of a few weeks ago the juicebox was back ordered and the charge point was available. Had the charge point in my Amazon cart ready to pull trigger then the mach e got delayed. I'll hold off on purchasing the charger until I get a more accurate delivery date. Unfortunately there are no rebates for chargers from my utility. I'm sure there will be in a few years as the Midwest is typically behind the curve.

I mounted the sub panel and am ready to start installing conduit and wire. Everything will be surface mount emt. Opened up the walls on both ends from the sub panel to the main panel and have a path worked out for routing the 2 awg thhn. 6awg thhn to the hardwired charger location, and 12 awg thhn everything else. 60amp to the charger, couple of 20amp 240v breakers for dust collector, table saw, band saw, and a handful of 20amp breakers for all the 110v locations. Will start that work next week. Still bummed I won't have a vehicle to plug in next week.

It goes in and out of stock all the time. Keep an eye open, and if it's in stock you should jump at it. When I bought it, they had none nationwide, except my electrician had a handful. Then, when the cord proved to be shorter than it was supposed to be, they specifically made some for me and my electrician (to replace his stock), and paid for him to come out and swap units. It was a few weeks until they had components available to make them even then.

As a former manufacturing geek from the computer industry, I would I be interested in their process for reworking the cars without chips. Given how long the chip shortage has persisted, you would think that they have a somewhat standardized/repeatable process. How assembled are they? Back to the line or right there in the parking lot? How much disassembly is required? Is there additional QA/QC required?

I am at least a little concerned that they will prioritize new builds and queue up the partials for some type of batch process (bias towards productivity and away from customer satisfaction) where the "regular guys" don't do the install.

I am sure I would be horrified... probably better that I not know. I am going to stick my head back in the sand now...

I'm just visiting, from build week 10 - got build date of 1/19. estimated deliv of feb, then march, then chip hold happened - and my current ETD is June 13 and has stayed there since most of us in the 1/10 build week got pushed back 3 months. No change in module status, in or out, since January 26.

I have been watching build weeks 1/03 and 1/10 too trying to find out why some are getting their cars now when I ordered mine in April of 21. I suspect that when they changed it to a 2022 build that many of us got moved to the bottom of the barrel when they said we would have priority. Many that ordered later have gotten their vehicles. No figuring this one out. My ETD is now June 8. That would make it 13 months since ordering. No explanation from anyone. Sure is something.

I think that also has to do with the trim level you order. Select and CA Rt1 are generally built faster. I assume they need fewer chips. That's probably why the original estimated delivery time is 8 weeks sooner for these trims compared to Premium and GT. It also makes sense from the operational point of view. A $1 chip can stall completion of a $60K car. They can ship more Selects and CA Rt1s with fewer chips which brings in more sales and profit.
