Only took 20 minutes to get this done with FDRS, and looks like we can mark recalls complete in FDRS now. It reported "Software Update Status: Complete" this time instead of throwing an error last recall update I did.

Ahhh, well done you!

I see all of us "Independent Operators" have the same Warranty Dealer Code (USAMTR12)

Yikes!!! I didn't realize 2025's also needed the fix. I've got a 2024 but will likely wait for the OTA or at the very least give the dealer more time to learn the ropes. It would be a real bite to have a dealer "hold" my car for more than 4 hours.
Oh yeah, this was released for '25 models first...and in fact there was a "stop sell" so they were motivated to get those done....the rest of us ('21-'24) plebes could wait 😁 Obviously it's because we're special and require extra careful testing....

Here's a tip when scheduling....when you talk to the service advisor about bringing the car in....tell them you want to bring it in the day that they know the EV tech will actually be working. That's what my service advisors do...we agree on a day that we know that the one EV tech they have can get to my car...and I wait for it to get done.

Yeah, would be nice if we could claim the hourly rate and get paid lol. Still shows as incomplete in my Ford Pass though. Maybe it syncs nightly or next business day. I'll check again tomorrow to see if it actually updated.

The update has been available for 2025s for a few months — I suppose they were focusing on 2025s on or off lot so they didn’t have to deal with a stop sale. I’m going to have to do research on other dealers in the area and see if service is better. Apparently the several day wait before they get to your car is pretty typical of this dealer, as a friend’s husband has had the same experience with his F150.

Okay, this is really good news! I'll proceed with the update myself instead of subjecting myself to the usual dealer hassle.

Thanks for answering this important question!

I just called three different dealers in Northern Virginia. One was nice enough to read me Ford's statement, which I'm going to paraphrase here: Advise the customer that updates for 2021-2024 model years have been paused and that there is no date yet to begin the campaign again.

ME FROM LATER IN TIME: Turns out all these dealers were wrong or didn’t get the memo.

Shout out to Sheehy Ford.

Three dealers is a small sample set, but I have no reason to believe that Sheehy or the other dealers are an exception. It's probably a nationwide message from Ford Motor Company.
  1. If you already got your 21-24 scheduled, huzzah and congrats! (Or maybe, like the first dealer i called, they forgot to ask if you had a 25 or 24 or earlier)
  2. If you're able to schedule your 21-24 from now onward, please let us know.
As you say in DC, budgets are moral documents. And the moral of our story appears to be end the 2025 stop sale as quickly as you can! I don't love it, but I understand it.

It went out as an OASIS broadcast message this morning. They're giving you outdated information.

I got my 2024 scheduled on Friday for tomorrow morning with a local dealer (who verified model with my VIN). The dealers you spoke with likely haven't updated their scripts. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Is this recall only in the US, or everywhere? Mine does not state in Fordpass that there is a recall? (MY2023, Netherlands)

I'm just going to put this sticker on the top frunk cover:
FORD LVB.jpg

Sorry about the AI use 😆
You can do a side hustle by selling these stickers to Mach E owners. I’ll take two. If you’re not so inclined, may I?

Why don't they just have the 12 V charging stop if the frunk is opened during the 12 minute period?
