2021MY Just Got Software Update 3.5.2

Mine is off and I just received the expected notification which asks me to accept. I decided to let it install since I am curious if my charge locations and schedule will be erased again.

It shouldn't, believe that bug was fixed, also that was usually with updates that touched the OBCC which are typically inhibit updates, this is just APIM

In Canada here and just got 3.5.2 myself about an hour ago while out on some errands. So I'm guessing that CA trails the US by a month maybe?

How long did you wait between 3.5.2 and 3.5.3 (assuming you got it already)? From what I saw elsewhere maybe 1.5 to 2 weeks. Begin holding breath...

EDIT -- Mis-read your timestamp. Maybe we're on a similar rollout schedule. I was starting to worry that Canadian Mach-Es won't get features like Alexa / Youtube. But maybe there's hope yet!

It is possible the features don't work in Canada yet. I know one Canadian that has done all these updates including 3.5.3.3 with FDRS and youtube didn't come up for him, and none of the services will activate in connected services yet.

I got 3.5.2 a little while ago but no actual changes showed up so looks like my update is stuck in a limbo mode… great. Hopefully 3.5.3 corrects the issue.

Got 3.5.2 yesterday, 2021 job 2, delivered April 22. Not EA.

Alexa eh? We have 3 Alexa devices around the house. We have two use cases: The Mrs has it play Jack Johnson radio, and I yell at it to shut up when it responds to something we didn't mean for it (which is everything except the Jack Johnson thing).

3.5.2 is a GWM update. Nothing user facing changes. 3.5.3 is the sync update where you'll get the interface changes. And then 3.5.3.3 will come a bit later and enable YouTube

You are not missing much (if you are still unable to get past the initial setup). In the current state it is barely functional anyway: asking it to set cabin temperature works, but so did SYNC before Alexa; asking it to set the seat or steering wheel warmer/heater yielded either "I don't know how to do that" or "your vehicle does not support it" depending on how I phrased the questions; asking it to navigate to specific places or addresses the success rate was only 50% - but to give Alexa credit, at least it makes the exact same mistakes consistently no matter how many times I asked for the same destination - Google Assistant via Android Auto is hardly error-free, but it never suffered failures when I asked for the same set of places/addresses over the last five years. The only reason I am willing to try it is because the Amazon Music app has this stupid behavior of frequently bugging me to upgrade to a paid plan over the "free" Prime tier, and the button to dismiss is not available on the screen it projects via Android Auto. As it turns out, when I ask Alexa to play music it works only if the car is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi (e.g., tethered to my phone), or it insists that a subscription to the Ford streaming plan is required (ignoring that my car already has Internet access due to a subscription to AT&T's In-Car Wi-Fi data plan).

I did eventually get it to display a QR code to finish set up, so it seemed to be another case of reporting an available feature before it was quite ready to launch (I did nothing differently other than wait a day or two). That said, I agree and now that I know I have the functionality if I want it, I chose not to set it up.

I got 3.5.3.3 at 5:12 PM EST. I am in EA, but I have never gotten anything early, so I am not sure that matters. A little bird told me 3.5.3.3 is coming out to everyone today, so probably if your car is ready, you will get it regardless of EA participation. (I am sure there is a roll out plan so not everyone will get it at exactly the same time, of course.)

That checks out since it showed up available in FDRS today. That usually doesn't seem to happen until it's approved for general release.

I find the only use for in car Alexa is asking about weather, you get a nice multi day forecast. And Alexa started working a day after 3.5.3, and 3533 came a few days later with YouTube

ARGH! Don't trample my dreams!! Lol...

My update message did say "Big things are coming... Alexa Built-in,..." so that's just false advertising if I don't actually get it.

I know most people say it's useless, but I can turn on/off my lights, open/close my garage doors, check on my home alarm status etc. Not to mention getting stock market updates, news, audiobooks, etc. via voice is a lot safer than messing with my phone. Your mileage varies on how much you allow Uncle Jeff creep into your personal life.

Dropped my car off at dealer this evening for 10k service. Was also going to have them do the 3.5.2 update. I parked the car, then had to move it to another spot because they are going to do overnight work to the building near where I first parked. When I turned on the car to move it, notification that 3.5.2 installed!!
