I'm saddened by hearing about all of these neat EVs that are either China-first or China-only. The Volvo EM90 is an example of a vehicle I would buy instantly that was also recently announced, but it seems it'll be China-only... what happened to the US? I thought we were the biggest deal for the automotive market, but it seems we only get SUVs these days, and we're not a priority when it comes to EVs. I know the reports keep saying that the US only buys SUVs, but at this rate it sort of seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy...
Wonder if demand is higher in China than in the US?

We aren’t. Get used to it. Also, note that the new nautilus is made in China.

China and Europe have strong mandates, we don’t. And congress did a number on the fed tax credits in the IRA (rotten carrot and broken stick type of a thing). It’ll be touch and go for the next few years before things get sorted out (EVs get to price parity with ICE and charging infrastructure improves). Till then, we’ll drive whatever design works for the Chinese.

China has almost 10x US vehicle sales, largest market in the world by far so them getting a vehicle first is something the rest of the world will have to deal with as it's the new reality.

Amazingly, the starting price of the EV5s sold in China is $22k USD. Hope they can maintain that pricing when it's sold in the US!

What is the EV9 range?
AWD dismal around 220 miles minus 25% in colder climates. GT with over 600hp coming and if the 99kwh battery is used holy cow at 160 miles. The damn thing now weighs 5600 lbs with a 129kwh it will be 6000 lbs.

Disappointing news. The EV5 will not be coming to US markets, at least not initially. We're stuck with the EV9.

Starts at $20.9k in China. Would love to have this in the USA. Not everyone wants an $80k ginormous 3-row EV SUV.

Sadly we only have 45 small crossovers and 3 “ginormous 3 row BEVs” to choose from in the US. ?

Seriously though, probably a wise move not to bring it here to join the extremely crowded BEV crossover market in the US.

How many 2 row EV SUVs do we have in the USA that aren't station wagon/shooting brakes though? Mach-E, KIa EV6, Lyriq, Blazer are all more like wagons/hatchbacks/shooting brakes. This EV5 looks like it may have a traditional SUV height.
