There is a powered sunshade for the Mach-E's panoramic roof?! Never heard about that before...

"Both cars come with panoramic sunroofs, but we’ll take the Ford’s smaller sheet of glass and its physical sunshade all day long. The Model Y tries to get by with tint and anti-UV coatings, but on a pleasant summer day, judges felt like they were broiling in a solar oven. The Ford’s power shade was deeply appreciated, especially considering the flimsy, see-through accessory shade Tesla has the nerve to charge $105 for."

Also, the MME in the photos of that article does not feature the panoramic roof, odd.

Subjectively, the best EV on the market, bar none. I’m thoroughly enjoying it and have a big smile on my face every time I hit the start button. The only other car I liked this much was a C5 vette back in 2002. The Mach-E is measurably faster, but not more fun to drive.

Having owned a 2003 AE convertible (6 speed) I can say without reservation that rowing through the gears is much more fun than driving the mach-e. Now if the c5 would have been an automatic, I'll take the Mach-E everytime...

It was automatic! Still more fun to drive.

That and " And the Mach-E’s interior has improved beyond the shifter, with attractive cloth trim and contrast stitching applied to both the front and back rows. "

Cloth trim? This is one of those articles where you wonder if they even had the cars on hand to actually test.

Or they are mixing up their cars, making the whole comparison moot.

Nor is it an extended range. Car mags do often feature phones other than of the actual test vehicle.

Gotta cut the author some slack. He doesn't even know how to pluralize the name of the car brand. Oh, wait. This is an actual magazine and not some internet schlub. I swear, a 2-legger should not be writing stuff. 🤦‍♂️🐩

I thought that perhaps Ford stuffed a Magneride car into the mix based on the braking test, but looking at the brakes on the photo car, they're the regular brakes. Well, that's unless the photo car and the test car were two different cars. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Perhaps they’re referring to the cloth on the dash.

I thought that I read that Ford did away with the little plastic _____X on the doors of Extended Range cars for 2025 (I just did away with the whole thing on my 2024 GT and replaced them with Chinese Market GT badges). So now you can only tell by VIN and window sticker... 🤔🐩

I had the same exact question. My 2024 Premium ER does not have a physical sunshade that I know of.

My only other car I enjoyed starting as much as my 21 GTpe was my 69 GT500.
