I just chatted with a rep at ford.com. She said my vehicle was built on 4/14 and it's now been moved to "upfitting". She couldn't explain to me what that is, or if it's a standard part of the process. Upfitting seems to be when they customize a vehicle with aftermarket parts...so I don't understand why my car would be there.

Upfitting seems really weird. I think that is more truck and van speak. Did you get a factory 6 inch lift kit that was not on my option sheet?

I don’t know when the Easter cars are going to resurrect but this is a weird limbo. Get used to weeks of this.

Yeah, that's what google told me...I also searched here for "upfit" and "upfitting" and the only mentions are on threads about the eTransit van.

Oddly, I just chatted with another rep and she said she sees no mention of upfitting. She said it's gone offsite (which the previous rep said as well), but said that is a standard note she often sees.

They both said it's still showing an ETA to my dealer of 5/11-17...which seems unlikely.

Trying to understand which build week I belong to. The production timeline "thermometer" on ford.com shows "In production" with the date 4/19/2022 right below the second stop ("In Production") on the thermometer. The windows sticker shows 4/7/22 just below "Special Order" in the lower middle portion of the WS. Which "build week" am I?

When you log into Ford and check your reservation, the "Scheduled for Production" date is your "official" build week. However when they actually started building your car is a crap shoot.

I really hope “Upfitting” doesn’t mean sitting on hold for microchips! I jumped on the 4/11 bandwagon, and called a really nice person named Teresa at Ford Chat. Says I’m in Production ( 12 Apr 2022) and delivery date to the dealer 03 June 2022. Are we sitting in a Rail Yard waiting to be loaded, and are just not getting a Built status?

Window sticker just auto-magically updated to today's date. So........ back to sleep I guess.

I had the same thought.

I have two links to my window sticker and they each have a different build date. One of the links says "vin=%20MYVINHERE" and has a date of Saturday 4/23. The other link I have just has "vin=MYVINHERE" and has a date of Sunday 4/24. Not sure where I got the one that had the %20 in it.

EDIT - If I add %20%20 it shows today's date, 4/25. ha.

What’s the point of Ford having a place to check build status when the date says 4/11 and remains the same on 4/28. It is either delayed or built or ? It’s definitely not 4/11. It should be kept up-to-date or eliminated. At this point all it does is cause aggravation.

At this rate, those mid June deliveries ford is quoting people seems more logical.
My commuter car is on it's last leg, but I'm hoping it doesn't go out in a blaze of glory. I refuse to put more money into a car I have plans on getting rid of asap.

I got this from my dealer yesterday. He said he's not yet concerned with the "sent offiste" note. He said that's standard when they're getting ready to ship it. Who knows. Not sure how delivery date hasn't moved yet.

I have an in production date of 4/13. The date on the window sticker is stuck at 4/21. There is a long module list for the car. Ford Chat would only say that it is in production with a delivery date of 5/31 to Eastern Massachusetts.

AWD Premium. Red. Light Gray. ER.

Good luck.

4/27 Update @830pm

Scheduled for Production email from 3/13 is now a dead link. Window sticker is no longer findable. Lookups through VIN all fail. Perhaps this is an indication of progress.

4/28 @ 9am

email link works again. From that page, hot link to the window sticker is still a re-direct to a page saying the sticker is not available. That’s the way it looks from here. Good luck.

4/30 @ 11AM

My link from email to production status to window sticker works again. The date at the bottom of the sticker is now 4/30. I spoke with my dealer this morning. He says the car is built and moved off site. Typically that means it is waiting for some element(s) before it can ship. He made a distinction between ‘Off Site’ and ‘On Hold’. If it were on hold, that could mean a chip problem. That is not the case. The tracking system updates between 10pm and midnight on Friday. My delivery date remains at 5/23-6/4. Good luck.

4/30 1PM

Link from production page to window sticker is dead again.

Our cars are in Ford purgatory, and their misinformation algorithm is working well. Status today is: Built but not shipped, presumably chipped, maybe in Truck upfitting, maybe already in KC or arriving tomorrow on a flatbed truck to your front door.

But seriously, I can now see my car in Ford's new SatTrack Expedience tool waiting for the train. The vehicle circled in the pic below is my DMG batch 5272 281/330. The tool is also showing my 12V running at about 89%. The tire pressure on my passenger front tire is a little low. Ford customer service also just told me, "it will get there when it gets there, don't call again," and "please take our customer satisfaction survey at the end of this call".

my car status shows in production on 4/13. batch 5272 132/330. no status update since then. Ordertrack shows status as ASN. I reached out to ford chat. Representative told me car was produced and scheduled for delivery between 5/7-5/13. I highly doubt that. I live in Florida. Does anyone know if car can deliver that fast or is it just wrong communication from ford chat representative?
