Bets are now hedged… I put down a deposit on a Fisker Ocean this morning. If my 10/4/2021 order ever gets to me, I’ll decide then what to do. The reality that Ford cares so little about customer impressions has finally done its damage. Oh well…
This Fisker will take a while. I put in a Fisker order late February for the wife. On Oct. 31st. Fisker will tell every reservation holder exactly when they are getting built. The entire build schedule will be published at one time (no games). The ordering experience with Fisker and Tesla is such a no-brainer. And I think about all the 10 months of crap I have slaved away here. Yes, I like the MME better but that margin vs. the other cars have slipped to very little. The buying experience and wait time really does count. The wife just asked me... we should have just ordered the Tesla back in October; you would not be going through any of this crap.

On a positive, it looks like Ford is going to be having OTA updates out by July to resolve the recall issues. Still annoying but at least they seem to be on top of it and hopefully that can get people into their new cars quicker! I bet they may need to replace some HVBJB down the line (under warranty) but it seems that the issue is a rare occurrence for most anyways. Cheers :)

I suspect Ford knew about this a month ago. My car had 3 delivery date revisions in the first 10 days after it transitioned from in production to shipped. Ford seems to be engaging in self buggery.

My GTPE has been in production since 4/20. Never was placed in shipping mode. I will bet you Ford knew of the problem with GTs since April.

With as much driving of my car as they've done in the past couple days they better have been installing that new HVBJB part number. They've put 7 miles on it since Monday doing who knows what to an essentially "fully" built car.

They drove mine 2.3 miles just yesterday.

They actually just pulled it back into the factory again 15 minutes ago. Just for my own curiosity I'd love to know what they're doing to them all this time. From my count mine has probably taken around 15 trips into the factory in the last two weeks with one of those for charging fully up to 100%.

Same for me. Total mileage was 6 miles on Friday. I saw they were charging yesterday, but only for a short period of time. Now it is at 15 miles. And looks like they have disabled location in the car settings. Not cool...

Looks like I am back in the factory again as well. So far today I have 3 trips totaling 0.9 miles. Clearly a few Starbucks runs have taken place.

That occasionally happens after an update, mine just went disabled a few minutes ago as well.

UPDATE: Before programming was interrupted by this pesky recall, my car was sitting in Newark starting June 9th. It looks like it's still in Newark. United Carrier still has it listed as inactive and my dealer is a ghost. Ford never updated my original delivery ETA which is July 24. I might actually be happy with this estimate now. I officially go down a car on Sunday; this is a demoralizing process.

@FarSide - FYI, mine is sitting at the dealer's awaiting the software upate...it sure does love sitting around in parking lots. It is still listed in United Road as inactive, so it appears to have been delivered by another carrier. There are quite a few others where this was the case as well. So bottom line is that what UR says may not give an accurate picture of things.

That said, given the recall, they may be holding off on "last mile" deliveries to dealers. That is just a guess though. That and the trucker shortage have added to this, as you have said, demoralizing process. Mine was in Newark from 5/14 to 6/10 when it finally made it to the dealer, only to be held again due to the recall announced 4 days later and 3 days before I was supposed to take delivery.

Yesterday I got this email and I can't see the vehicle in ford pass anymore. I didn't request it. I was hoping that a means I'm closer to shipping but I haven't got any update from Ford so far, and I don't see any change in the trackers either...

I'm a 4/18 weeker. I got that too last night. I'm sure the factory folks did it. Been trying to reconnect, but to no avail.

The master reset is the last step before they pull the fuses to put it into shipping mode, which means you really shouldn't be too far off. I have yet to get reset so at this point I'm going for a world record highest odometer before it even leaves the factory. currently at 27 miles and counting
