I just tried my third fix (the one noted above).
It worked and reduced the noise by 50-70%.

someone above noted their gap was 1/8 inch. The only problem I have is the 3/16 inch product I used probably is too small for my gap (which is larger than most). I may have to go with 1/4 if I want it to stay put.

I got 1/4” strip off Amazon today. Lot of wind today and driving into it not much of a difference. Driving the opposite direction the noise is reduced similarly to what you mentioned 50% or so.

So, what is your final verdict? What to buy, how to install it?

My gap must be larger than yours — 3/16 isn't quite tight enough for me
Where do you source your parts? Do you have part#?

Today Susan and I were on the expressway going an average of 70 mph in our 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid. We had the radio off and it came to me to actually listen for wind noise as I've ignored it apparently because it was just background noise. Well, when I concentrated on actually listening to the wind noise it was quite loud and I was surprised that I have never noticed that. Susan said the same thing. My point being I bet a lot of cars have wind noise at certain speeds but one gets used to it and it's just background noise. The Mach E probably falls in the same category. That's just my guess now because I don't have one yet but it makes sense to me. I'll see if I change my mind once I take delivery. On the 2 test drives we took neither one of us noticed wind noise either.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. If its too loud, then it looks like the fix I see in this thread would be easy enough.

It is a problem for this vehicle. Why some have the issue and others don’t is speculation, but it is noticeable if the car is effected. My brother drove in my car one time and had a conference call while on the highway, not knowing the complaint I had about the noise. Immediately after ending his call he made a comment about the noise

I've listened for it and never heard it. Last Friday morning on the freeway I heard it. It was mildly annoying. Haven't heard it since. Seemed when I heard it the wind was fairly strong and coming right to left, mostly perpendicular to the MME.

I couldn’t take a call in my MMe without someone asking about the noise (never once happened in the Bolt using the same phone).

Have you tried the DIY fix yet? Please let us know when you do and give us your before/after improvement rating on a 1-10 scale (1 being worst), as in before=3, after=8. Thanks!

I did in another post/thread. Definite improvement.
The MMe went from the loudest wind noise of any car I’ve owned (8) to being average (4).

I can take calls again!

Does it start coming loose under wind at speed?

No. Quite solid while driving.

If I were to keep the 3/16 version on it now, a car wash might blow it into the gap between the roof and the windshield.

I also bought the material in 1/4 inch which should be better for my specific MMe. Because it’s working fine, I haven’t been motivated to swap it out yet.

I read your other thread and saw your photos. I thought the foam cord is intended to be put in the gap between the roof and the windshield? Is that not where it's supposed to go?
