Sorry...off topic...but...
First, there’s a reason every car I’ve ever owned, except the Mach E, had a physical trunk button. Because it’s important for the driver to “pop the trunk” from behind the wheel. So yeah, the average person wants it. And yet Ford replaced the trunk button with a max defrost button, even though that’s already on the fixed climate control section of the SYNC screen. Two one-tap methods for max defrost. Zero one-tap method for the trunk.
100% agree. I would replace the max defrost button with a trunk button in a heartbeat. I think it's helpful to have it to the left of steering wheel so that you can reach it while standing in the doorway or reaching through the window. It can't hurt to also have it on the touchscreen, but down by the light knob would be perfect. I find that if I'm standing in the doorway...I just walk to the back of the car and kick my foot under the car to open the trunk, so it's not too bad (but luckily I have the kick option - I guess pressing the button on the door is not much harder).
And I don’t need to be an expert UI designer to point out that the trunk button is not a setting. Because it isn’t. When my son says “yo dad, pop the trunk!” I don’t say “sure, let me just change that setting.”
Agreed...it's a control not a setting.

And while we're on the subject of the GUI....can anyone explain why the climate control section exists on the touchscreen? That bottom section might as well have been physical controls because it never changes. It would be nice if that space could be swapped in for something else (like stats or other information) when I'm not actively needing to adjust the climate settings. The great thing about touchscreens as a UI is that they can adapt...they are not fixed. Use it that way.

That is very odd and concerning. I'm not aware of anyway they can revert you back to old versions of modules to get you back to BC 1.0. Are you sure they didn't just turn off BC hands free period? Your screen still goes blue with hands off? I'd wager they just turned off BC hands free and left you with adaptive cruise control, which are just settings in your car. Even then, the camera still usually checks for your eyes. I'm on 1.0, and if I have BC on a city street, it'll tell me to watch the road after a certain amount of time still.
oh no, they definitely gave me Blue Cruise back, as I've used it. But it is without lane-change and without lane-move-over (you know, big trucks). This, after I had lost it all due to 6.13. My service guy said they had a laptop hooked to it when they did it. I put in a call to him regarding the link left to me here about them being able to fix it right now. Will post when I get results, hopefully next week.

I think Ford has made a few small changes to the climate control section of the main screen over the past few years. Can’t remember what exactly changed.

Yes, that's fair...but I'm saying they should use that space for more than climate control. Perhaps that wasn't clear.

Yeah, they moved the A/C button to that section that's always there.

In all the talk about what's moved and what should have been moved, I didn't seem to find the answer to a much simpler question... for those without ANY frunk button in sync (but who did eventually get the update to add it into FordPass), will this at least add the button SOMEWHERE within the sync screen?

I'm sure it would be nicer to place it somewhere meaningful, but at this point I'd just like to have it somewhere.

Feel free to just go to your dealer and get it fixed, no need to wait for it OTA:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...centering-after-an-ota-update-cmr-dtcs.34229/
There's also an SSM (dated 3/12/24) that says to wait for an OTA mid-late March. So some dealers will decline to do it.

I'd prefer an update that provides:
1) Ability to set dog mode as per my Tesla. Can't do it on the wife's Mustang.
I'd like an official dog mode too, but in the meantime are you aware of the workaround, i.e. leaving car on with doors locked?

I know you’re not replying to me but my workaround is turning off the vehicle power-down timer, setting the temp to a comfortable temp and writing “DOG IS FINE - A/C ON” using the sketchpad ?

I’ve never had any issues with the sketch pad going away. I’m also a little paranoid and sometimes lock the car again from FordPass after exiting, but I’m pretty sure that’s unnecessary (I’m just overly paranoid).

They did! They made some numbers bigger and some letters smaller.

It’s really too bad the devs can’t code this stuff in Microsoft Word because font size is a 2 second change in that program!

Sorry if it was answered already, but what was your previous OTA? Do we know if there are any "prerequisites" for this one?

I had installed all the previous updates from the poll thread.
