No, you don't have to wait to generate it, just use it. And there are other organizations that don't require a waiting period. Ford did this because MCA has had a huge influx of "members" that join just to get the discount.
I'm still in my 90 days and I'm thinking about ordering one soon. Is the pin used when ordering or when the vehicle arrives?

You don’t use the X-plan PIN until you are working out the contract. That’s when you need to have your 90 days.

I'm new to ordering vehicles in general (I hate haggling), when in the process would working out the contract happen? I assume on delivery but I would think I would lose my deposit if didn't agree with contract (like dealer add ons).

Yes, but as many other people have stated try to find a dealership that will not add an ADM or any dealer markup in writing beforehand.

Gotcha. Thanks!
Oh and to address the other question, most dealership say the deposit is refundable. It doesn't hurt to ensure that when you talk with your dealer.

My experience for context, I put a $500 deposit on my order with dealership 1. Then another dealership said they had someone cancel and I can take over. Said no ADM etc. Gave dealership2 a separate $500 deposit. D2 car came in and I asked to see final price sheet so when I arrive things will be smooth (Already told him what type of financing I wanted and was going to fill out credit application online once I saw the price sheet). Price sheet had $2k in dealer add-on. When asked he said they aren't marking up the car for nothing and that the add-on items add value. I argued that I didn't want those added value items and he said take it or leave it. So I said no thanks and they refunded the $500 deposit to me the next day. The Car sold to someone else in about a week. I continue to wait for my original order with D1. :(

I signed up for Xplan when I canceled D2, 90 days puts me right before the delivery estimate when I ordered from D1 so all in all it should work out if I can get my car before EOY.

Wow. Its good you didn't cancel your order. Thanks for the information. It definitely helps.

Guess so but from the convo I've had both on the phone and text/email i'm sure I'll be fine.

It helps I think when D1 = the largest ford dealership in LA & CA. I think they recently lost the world designation to a dealership in FL.

Hope it won't have to go that way else I guess IONIQ5 maybe?

My dealer called me and claimed that the Mach-E is on the excluded list for X-Plan. Since the 2022 X-Plan pricing is not yet available on the Ford Partner website is there a possibility he is right assuming a 2022 MY?

It is showing up in my partner portal, but with an error (for 2022) "Pricing for this vehicle is temporarily not available. Please see your dealer for pricing details." So, while they aren't showing pricing, they are showing it as eligible.

After parsing through this thread briefly I asked my dealer whether I could be eligible for the X plan pricing if I showed him proof of it. He told me that they offer all those programs. Also I would have to get the X plan PIN number myself since they do not provide that.
So if I joined the Mustang club of America would I be eligible and gain access to this pin that the dealer is talking about? The 2% discount would add up since I am waiting on a MME premium with an extended range battery.

Yes, but with a caveat. You have to be a member for 90 days before the PIN that you generate becomes valid.

Apparently I can X plan discounts through my company and don’t even need the mustang club membership (see screenshot for details, might be helpful for many others to check the full list). However my dealer is stating that I won’t be eligible for ā€˜other Ford discounts’. He is being very vague and I called him out on it because all other discounts are either federal or state rebates associated with EV’s. None of those come out for the dealership bottom line, so not sure what the conflict might be.

There are restrictions on combining certain offers, pricing, and incentives. These are clearly outlined on systems that the dealer has access to, and often on public Ford web sites as well.

So far, it's been possible to combine X-plan pricing with Ford Options retail bonus cash... Many of us have done that. There are other discounts out there, but whether they are Mach-E compatible, or combinable with X-plan, depends on the specific rules of each discount.
