Question for those who have received their replacement adapters...

Did you get an email with the shipping confirmation or tracking number?

I received two back-to-back emails on 11/27 (1 week ago today). The first said the exchange request was approved. The second said the exchange was completed.

I haven't actually seen a tracking number.
Tim, exact same for me except I received the back to back e-mails on 11/26 (not 11/16- that was a typo). No email with the shipping confirmation or tracking number yet.

I received two back-to-back emails on 11/27 (1 week ago today). The first said the exchange request was approved. The second said the exchange was completed.

I haven't actually seen a tracking number.

I know they are very busy ... so I thought I'd ask those who received their replacement if they got a tracking number or if the replacement just showed up.
I received the same emails you did on the same day as you. I'm thinking another month or so before they ship mine. I base that on how long it took to them the first time around from processing to shipping.

Did you have to send a picture of the destroyed adapter before they sent you a tracking number? The video seems to imply they wanted the picture, but it wasn't clear if they would hold up shipping until they got the picture.
No. The replacement shipping has nothing to do with the destroying and sending the picture.

My replacement adapter has shipped, due to arrive today. After I receive it, I will watch the video for how to destroy the adapter, and send them the picture as requested.

Thanks, Rick! I thought it was pretty clear, but since I haven't received a tracking number yet, I thought I would ask. I appreciate the response!

I didn’t even get the email with the video….but have my replacement.

I noted this language In the email I received after initiating my recall exchange:

Return Method: Instructions on how to safely dispose of the adapter will be provided upon shipping of your replacement adapter.

As is sometimes the case with Amazon exchanges. A2Z may simply tell us to throw our existing (recalled) units in the trash instead of sending them back.

I would consider that unusual, as I expect they would want to confirm that the recalled units are in fact destroyed. But maybe they know the “danger” of using the recalled units is basically nil, whereas the expense of paying return shipping for thousands of units would be major... ?‍♂
I bought one of the early Typhoon Pro adapters and it had some problems (wouldn't allow Plug & Charge). When I called them to figure out what to do, they said the v1 of the Pro had that problem and that they had a v2 of the Pro and would send me a replacement immediately. I asked if I should send the old one back and they said it was too costly and wasn't worth it due to international shipping.

On a different note, I finally got an approval of my Typhoon v1 replacement.

You would have received 2 emails, mine were sent at the same time. The subject is : A2Z EV : Return & Exchange - Your exchange request # _____ has status has been updated to Exchanged (first email said "Approved"). Inside that email is a link with Next Steps, which takes you to a webpage with a video link. I'm DMing it to you right now.

You basically bend the communication pins on the NACS side of the adapter with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers.

Likely. They make a great product. Their overwhelmed and have been from the beginning, and that shows no signs of changing.

Curious … I went back to the emails and the ‘approved’ email has:
NEXT STEPS: Please wait for exchange order to be created.
But the next email that says ‘completed’ has no next steps nor does it have any links that I can find.

I may write them to see if they are waiting on me.

If it was identical to your old one you shouldn’t have got a replacement period.

V1 had a manual lock switch, the new ones do not.
