Has anyone else experienced this?

When I am in Blue Cruise (or just normal adaptive cruise control) the car will start slowing down for a vehicle that doesn't exist, and then apply the emergency brake assist... and then start to speed up again. I can see on the screen it shows that a vehicle is detected ahead, but sometimes the highway will be completely empty in front of me. Hoping for any insights as to how others have rectified this problem, or if you have experienced something similar.

Highly annoying...

We (wife and I) have not seen this at all. And we’ve got quite a few miles over both cars with assorted versions of adaptive cruise controls.

Have you checked to see if Wonder Woman is flying in the area?

Over 60K miles of ACC and BC and I’ve never seen that. Your radar needs to be looked at.

Can you use the accelerator to keep speed stable when that happens? I drive 90% of the time with all ADAS engaged with my RAV4, but around town I use the accelerator more.

I had something similar happen to me, albeit very briefly, yesterday while driving in BCHF mode. I thought I was just being overly paranoid about it, but seeing it here I’m almost positive I experienced the same thing. I hope it’s not a sign of something worse, or some bug that’s now being uncovered from the updates that are coming.

I assume this is dirt / smashed bugs covering the sensors and causing false echos.
Car is squeaky-clean, and been washed several times while this has happened over a period of weeks.

Yes, but as soon as I let off the accelerator is starts braking and yelling at me like we are going to crash (into nothing)

That's a new feature just rolled out via update. It's called Wife Mode.

Never had an issue with ACC in my 2021, took first road trip a couple weeks ago with the new 2023 and had similar issues, adaptive cruise shutting off and slowing down on full retro, seemed like it only happened on curves. After a while I pulled off and changed to normal cruise and all good. Assume this will be fixed at some point.

This happens on our Rt1 all the time.

For us its when we pass large trucks (and lately pickups). As we approach the semi and get to the point between the tractor and trailer it will either brake, or the alert will go off. (When passing a pickup we're right behind the cab.)

If I use the accelerator to override the speed when passing the truck the alert doesn't fire.

“Kiss from a Rose” Seal classic.

Likely a vision based fault. I would ask dealer to check camera and IPMA.
