My company is in the process of buying a couple of work vans from a local Ford dealership (on order, no ADM). My boss just told me he was talking with the fleet guy and asking about pickups. He said the fleet guy told him if there was a pickup on the lot the ADM would be $10K-$15K, but there aren’t any on the lot. There was one Raptor, which was $20K ADM. My boss was just gobsmacked. His response was: “You can’t even tow much with it.” ??

Does a $12k+ ADM seem excessive from a dealer in southeastern PA, if you bought a Prem AWD EXT Range Mache just 15 months ago off the lot from the same dealer, with no ADM? Kind of surprised the hell of the wife and I looking at a Cyber Orange GT from a dealer we thought was above that. The sales manager just said it's what the market will bare.

Anyone know of a dealer in the Philadelphia area not doing an ADM. Dumphy says they don 't but they sold the GTPE 2 days ago we were going to go look at. Seems the Ford Search inventory site isn't quite up to date either.

Jerry’s Ford in Leeseburg VA tried to sell me a used Bronco for $78k. Had 10k miles, and admittedly it had a nice aftermarket lift and 38” tires, it also had significant damage to the frame and subframe from some hard off-roading.

When I pointed it out and asked how they can sell a vehicle with visible frame damage and rust, they told me that if I wasn’t interested to stop wasting their time.

it was a Badlands so MSRP was in the $45k range IIRC.

Seems greed and fantasy has reached the auto market after all. (More than it was before covid at least, when people had a choice). The wife has already responded to the experience on twitter and is waiting for the (hope will arrive) car buying experience questionnaire from the dealership (Fred Bean). Hopefully @fordmotorcompany will stand behind what they have preached and take action on those dealers adding ADM's on any vehicle. I have the Mach-e premium I bought from them and the wife wanted to add another, trading in the 2020 Chevy bolt that is still waiting for the battery recall to be completed. We thought we would have a great buying experience and bring a second mach-e into our family. That vision has faded with the wild west action that the FORD dealer ADM's in the area (we called and all but 1 are charging ADM's on the mache). Scheduling a tesla test drive next week. The next closest car to what we wanted. I guess when the rebates run out at the end of the year and the mache falls off the list of eligible cars, we'll see if the ADM's continue. By then, I believe the rebate will be back on the tesla's so where will that leave Ford on the mache sales. I think that lack of ADM enforcement has only hurt FORD. Wonder id they see this coming?

I've been looking nationwide for a little over a week now. I have found two dealerships selling GTPE at MSRP...that's it. One was in Florida and the other in Michigan, im in California. There are two in napa at a dealership with a 15k markup. The problem is that dealerships are purchasing cars from other dealerships at a premium price and just tacking on a markup to make profit. The house of cards is about to fall....don't pay markup

This is crazy. Ford can't expect to build a profit center on the these actions by their dealers and succeed in their goal. This is a failed target before it starts with the less than stellar dealer commitments to the ev business.

$12k is more than most that people here have been negotiating down. At the end of the day, it's a staring contest of who needs it more than the other party.

If you are willing to do the work and be patient, I think you can/will eventually find a dealer with a few cars willing to deal (someone just got $5k ADM). Dealers aren't going to do you any favors and aren't your friend so why do people here expect anything other than a mark up?

As for Tesla, there was an MSRP update of +$17k on the Model Y since it's been out. No one seems to complain about that for some reason. Folks here sell their used cars to dealers for $5k more and don't complain, but we complain when dealers have an ADM because they are not Ford and independent.

Just keep looking. Being not in CA, I think you should be able to have an easier time finding a lower ADM IMO.

Like I've said before, I see car buying as a transactional experience. I don't want to be friends with a dealer and your dealer doesn't want to be friends with you neither (why there's an ADM now). Don't make car buying more than it really is (all IMO).

I don’t know how bad ADM is in other countries, but it seems like at this point it would be much cheaper to buy one elsewhere and go through the painful import process.

It's all supply and demand at this point. Whether its tesla selling directly or other manufacturers through their dealers' network. Tesla's is just more transparent and they honor the price when you placed the order.

Let your wallet decide, no one needs a Bronco, or a MME, they just want one. If the market (ADM) is too much, get something else.

I don't like it, but got to pay to play. I didn't shed a tear when I got a car for "below invoice" before. So I'm sure dealers aren't shedding a tear now when they're getting 10k ADM.

While my local Ford dealer does right by me, it very different when it comes to vehicles "On the Lot", they are the largest Shelby and Roush dealer in the North East and every one of the cars that come it get an instand 50K ADM. The worst part about that is that the cars sit in the showroom less than a week!
I had inquired about a GT500 that just came in and it was listed at the 50k adm but the sales manager would let me have it for 10k over sticker. I reminded him that I can fly out to Las vegas and pick up a new GT500 at Shelby America for sticker and then spend $1500 to ship it, total extra would be under 2k! Even less for a Roush!
Now while I would love a GT500, I am quite happy with my MME!

I am very lucky to have accidentally found a GTPE at MSRP in PA. NJ was $10k ADM for the same vehicle or order a 2023 at $5k ADM.

Very lucky indeed !

Here in California where fuel prices are over $7/gallon, EVs and PHEVs are hot tickets.

Still can't find a MSRP IBSM Select or Premium 2022 to take the full tax credit.

Waiting for my MSRP 2023 w/ $6K PCO for delivery next year with uncertain tax credits...
