That dealer was full of shit and just threw a bunch of nonsense on the sheet to get me in the door.

This is the contract from a different dealer that I ended up buying from. Note I did pay $1345 ($100 above cost) for the extended warranty because they were so straightforward and easy to work with, but I could've said no. Basically, the dealer discounted it down to 51k before the 3k incentive.

Before Tax/Title/License: $48,265
After Tax/Title/License: $51,707

Total Financed After Extended Warranty: $53,044

Do you recall what the sticker price was? The car I'm looking at is $59k and they are only willing to come a couple grand off of that.

Sticker was $72k, but obviously they weren't basing it off that. The dealer discount on the sheet was like $25k

Feel free to use that contract to negotiate with them. They need to sell these things and they need to do it soon. Tell them to match the OTD price or you'll look elsewhere and let them squirm.

I meant the revised sticker after the Ford reduction. The original sticker on this one is $71k and change. Which these clowns still have listed as the price on their website. Could be why they're having trouble moving them. LOL. Ford.com shows the new price.

I would expect that discounts to far outweigh X-Plan. But keep in mind that many "discounts" are in fact either a restatement of the window sticker (new, lower price from Ford that really isn't a discount), or a rebate/incentive from Ford. Those would be in addition to X-Plan. Many dealers play games.
I am in CO (from TX, live here during ski season). One of the people staying in our condo complex has the largest number of Mach-E's in all of Texas. I asked his recommendation when I am ready to buy another Mach-E and he recommended leasing as they will take the tax credit off the lease price then you can purchase at the end of the lease cheaper.

That is correct.

Local dealer has the newly discounted price showing as $51.4k, minus a dealer discount of $1,000 and another $1,000 off for “retail bonus cash,” bringing the advertised price (before x plan) to $49.4k.

Included options are interior protection package (floor mats) and comfort package (heated seats, etc.).

Should I expect more of a discount? Or is this a good deal?
That's a terrible price. The 2024 extended range AWD Premium has an MSRP of $49,995. Your 2023 (when you go to sell at some point in the future) will be one year older and sell at a discount to an equivalent 2024. That needs to be reflected in the price you get today.

That lease trick isn't very effective in Texas since you pay tax twice. It helps some if you buy out immediately, otherwise you end up paying rental charge. If you can do all that in CO, you'll be better off.

The guy who owns the dealership is in TX and I would pay off lease fairly quickly but I have at least one year maybe 2 before I am ready to buy another car. Things might change between now and then :)

Just FYI, it doesn't matter where the dealer is. For tax purposes, it matters where you will register the vehicle.

Hi all, thanks for all the great info in here (I’m new). I’m considering a 2023 Premium Mach-e, vapor blue with extended battery, RWD/eAWD. I am eligible for “X-Plan” pricing through my employer.

Anything else I should expect in terms of incentives beyond the zero percent financing offer?

I will be visiting the dealership today.

Thanks!!
see this thread for some deals people got lately

Here's an update following my visit to the dealership this afternoon/evening (which unfortunately did not go as I had hoped):

I went armed with a whole lot of info (thank you for great recommendations in this thread). The dealership's website listed two cars that are the exact color, trim, etc., that I'm interested in. These two cars had been on their lot for 265 days and 148 days. Well, they both sold within the last week; one of them was being picked up by its new owner while I was there. Sales guy said (so take it with a grain of salt) that before Ford announced the price drop and incentives (zero % financing or lease deal) that if they sold one a month it was a lot. He said now they have sold 10 in the last week.

Because they did not have the exact car I was interested in, we never got to hard numbers discussions. We talked about pricing in general and I got a sort of noncommittal "if we need to do better, I could probably come down another $500" response.

They did look and said they could "source" another car from another dealership that matches what I want, but a) why wouldn't I just deal with that dealership directly (which I might), and b) I would probably lose all negotiating leverage of I ask them to find a specific car for me.

Last piece of noteworthy information, the salesperson mentioned that the zero percent financing deal is offered through next Tuesday, and we don't know if it will be extended after that. We already knew that but it wasn't front-of-mind.

I might add, I have been looking between this car and a Volvo C40, the 2024 version which has a more acceptable range (AWD version still falls short of Mach E AWD with extended range). I'm leaning towards the Mach E, in large part due to price, but my wife likes the Volvo (I would be the primary driver).
