Borderline abuse of authority, since it was apparently motivated entirely by self-interest. (Would you have stopped if the apparel were different?) For your part, perhaps you could have shared your "waiting time" or "markup" experiences applicable to your MME acquisition. I put myself into this storyline.... Police officer waved me down to ask why I wasn't driving a Ford Mustang Mach e since he wanted one. I would respond that I'd ordered one 11 months ago, still waiting. It's been sitting in Kansas City waiting for a ride to California for near 2 months, now. Meanwhile, I am driving a very fine, equal or better EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, because my MME delivery ETA kept drifting farther out and dealer markups are everywhere, so I used my "trade-in markup" to offset the dealer markup on the Hi5. ps I think some 2023MY MME ordering was to have closed in October, not to mention the huge price increase and potential loss of Federal tax credit. Alternate reality. ;)

I really do understand your frustration. We waited nine months for our car, along with just about everyone else on this forum. Demand far exceeds supply, so that is how it goes, unfortunately. We also had to wrangle with the dealer about price protection. Thanks to the wealth of information on this forum we were prepared for that issue, and managed to eventually work it out.

As I chatted with the officer, I didn't pull any punches about long delays, and being careful which dealer he works with. But, all that being said, I love my car, and have no regrets about the purchase. I get pretty scared when cops indicate they want you to stop for any reason. So I was just happy it was only a friendly conversation about one of my favorite topics!

A friend in the EV group I belong to has an Ioniq 5, which he really likes. He says the MME was his first choice, but he had a chance to purchase the Ioniq 5 without a huge wait, so made the best choice for him.

Not seeing many on the road her in NY... although yesterday had a bizzarro world moment when stopped at a light behind ANOTHER Star White GT! Otherwise see maybe 20 teslas for every MME.
Same in KY. I just don't pay much attention to teslas, as they lack style, and the design is just derivative blandness. But, I can spot another Mach E from several blocks away. It's a really stylish, distinctive car.

I did get pulled over once in my C300 because the cop had gotten an A4 with a trunkload of buyer's remorse. He also saw me doing 90+ but only gave me a ticket for 70 in a 65, so that was nice of him.

Someone on some other thread made some joke about white Teslas, which I relayed to my son. Ever since, all we can see are white Teslas. Seriously, 9-10 a day, easy. It started to get folded into the running slugbug game, but was generating too many punches so got banned.

I think the police should do random stops to congratulate people on a well-executed right turn, or give them $100 for a good lane change. Make it so not every interaction is negative - instead of "Oh no, I'm getting a ticket" you think, "Man I nailed that left arrow/pedestrian combination - cha-ching!" when the blues flash in your rearview mirror.
They were actually doing something like this in my town for a while. They were giving them out for stopping behind the crosswalk lines and other things. I wasn't out driving enough to be lucky enough to get one... if only I had known, I'd have gone out more. ?

Post some pics of your Mach-E!

I also had an officer do this (I believe). A few weeks after I got the car I got pulled over for ”no front license plate” and the officer was clearly just walking around it and checking out the interior and asking if I liked it. He let me go without any issues and just said to get a plate installed soon. I didn’t… still rolling front plateless and no issues in the 35k miles since then. I’m sure the law will eventually catch up with me for being so brazenly illegal.
Here's a few pictures. The grabber blue looks really pretty with the bright blue sky in the background ?

Tesla are unnoticeable car for me, too many are on the roads. Mach-e attract my attention more. At my today’s short shopping ride I saw 6 Mach-es, the most courageous one was this beauty

I was cutting through an alley downtown, on the way to the County Clerk’s office for early voting. When I reached the intersection of the alley and the main street, a cop parked at that corner jumped out of his cruiser and waved me to stop! Oh no! Was I going the wrong way in a one-way alley?!? What is happening here?!?!

I rolled down the window, and politely asked, “Is there a problem, Officer?” He quickly smiled, and responded, “No, not at all. I have been trying to find a Mustang Mach-E for months, and just wanted to take a picture of your car.” I was relieved, and more than happy to agree. He then took a bunch of pictures, from every possible angle, all the time raving about how much he loved the car. He asked a bunch of questions about how we liked our car, and we shared our enthusiastic approval. I encouraged him to go online and place an order for a 2023 ASAP, which he said he intended to do. He also loved all my exterior modifications (stripes, painted calipers, lighted pony), so he obviously has impeccable taste ;)
I'm in Louisville right now visiting family for a while. I'll be on the lookout for your MME. If you see a star white MME with Virginia plates, that's me.
