Hopefully you don't mind answering a basic question. I love the widget but can't figure out what the bell symbol directly above the car is for. Mine is always red. It's green in the app instruction picture but I didnt see it discussed in the instruction.

The bell is the alarm system. Green is armed, plain red is unarmed, red with ZZZ is deep sleep.

I'm looking for a few individuals who'd be interested in being internal testers for the Google Play version. The app will be functionally identical to the GitHub version. If you're interested send me your e-mail address in a DM.

I would love to test this out, but I guess it would help to get my car first. ? Only 2 months left (hopefully).

Widget still isn't scrubbing the OTA info. I just got 2.6.0 yesterday and the widget is still reporting "no specific information found"

Just and FYI if you need me to email you a log or troubleshoot, send me a DM

Yeah I am having the same results with the widget.
I've opened an issue on GitHub. Enable logging, do or wait for a refresh to occur, then save and upload the log. Scrub your VIN if you want.

Uninstalling and reinstalling seemed to resolve the issue.

Downloaded latest version, old one was deleted for a while. Logged in via ford login. Now getting crashes every time I open the app or widget. Log attached.

Tried clearing data+cache and reinstalling. Same thing happens. Always crashing on app open after ford log in.

Ok, the log seems to indicate it got your VIN but didn't associate it to a user.

Try this: clear data+cache, start the app, enable Logging, then login to Ford. Don't exit the app. Give it 30 seconds or so, then try to get to the main screen so you can save the logfile. If so, opena new issue on GitHub and upload the log file there.

As soon as I log in, it minimizes the app. And then if I try to open. It crashes.

@kennelh FYI SSM 50804 - 3rd Party Phone Apps/Widgets May Cause 12V Battery Drains

Suggest rethinking the 5 minute default update interval.
Thanks for forwarding that, but I don't think it's an issue with the way the widget works. Someone in the F-150 forum complained that the widget was not updating and noted that pulling down on the FordPass screen caused its status to update. I looked into that some and discovered it sends a specific HTTPS PUT request which forces the vehicle to respond. The widget currently appears to only read the most recent information stored on Ford's servers. Future plans are to allow the widget to "force" an update if the refresh period became larger than some threshold, but it's not doing it now.

Version 2022.05.25 just uploaded. This release fixes a significant bug with missing information in the databases after logging into the Ford servers which caused the app to quickly crash. I believe this mainly happens on new installs or when the app's data was cleared.

If you noticed no problems with 2022.05.20, you can upgrade as normal within the app or by sideloading. If 2022.05.20 doesn't work for you but did before, I'd recommend wiping the app's data before sideloading.

WARNING: an update was accidentally pushed out this morning to GItHub. DO NOT INSTALL. It's a non-working version.

If you do install, you will need to manually sideload the 2022.05.30 version just uploaded.

Edit: Here is the link to 2022.05.30 (it's the same as 2022.05.25, just a later version number). It got pushed to a separate branch instead of the master branch.
