Thanks for the replies. To clarify:
No PAAK (never installed).
Car was locked.
Car woke up when I approached it as usual.
Did not use the fob to unlock the car.
Pressed driver's side rear door open button.
Both rear door and tailgate simultaneously opened.
Incident happened the morning after the dealer updated software for other issues I was having.
It hasn't happened again, but wouldn't be surprised if it came back up at the most inappropriate time.
Since then, I have received OTA 3.5.2. Still having issues with the infotainment, had to reboot the main screen on the way to work this morning.
I'm hopeful the foam on the garage door will help prevent more damage the next time this happens. Backing into the garage is a real chore, but may be prudent considering the HVBJB issue (another fail on Ford's part taking the easy way out on the recall).
