My 2022 MME is now 4 years old. A couple days ago I was treated with another first - the brake coach actually displayed after being switched on the whole time. My delight was short lived - it was the last time it worked. This feature now joins the group that has worked only one time the four years that I have owned the car: folding mirrors, brake coach, welcome lighting
The list of never working: hands-free rear door opener
The list of working sometimes: driving mode (car likes engage, I like whisper), preferred charging times (usually ignores my preferences), PAAK (if you are persistent, it works).
Great car to drive, but these and several UI glitches covered well in the forum make the car somewhat frustrating. Still love it, though.

The brake coach only works i engage mode. So if you prefer whisper, you're unlikely to see it.

Unless you added it back manually, 2022s don't come with the hands-free lift gate from the factory (I believe it has the hardware but was disabled in software, at least for the early 22 models).

Kick to open liftgate was discontinued early in the 2022 model year. Whether or not yours has the hardware or even the software is dependent upon exactly when it was built.

Does the car completely ignore your preferred times or is it ignoring the start time only? It has a “logic” system and will start charging early if it thinks it won’t be able to reach target charge by the end of the charge window you’ve set.

Brake coach is shown only while in engage mode.

The car shifting drive modes to engage is a known bug with some vehicles.

The puddle lights are temperamental. You’re not alone there.

Good to know about the brake coach. I was unaware that it only works in Engage mode. I wonder why this is?
I probably missed the cutoff for the lift gate.
The manual is not clear about preferred charge times. I want to restrict charging times to daylight hours because I have 15KW in solar panels. As you stated , it apparently ignores this to meet a charging limit. I had to solve that issue by installing a mechanical 480V timer. It kills the charger outside my preferred charging times and creates numerous "something went wrong" messages. Why do the engineers think it has to go to the charge limit every time? And why would they think that "start charging" means go to 100%, ignoring the limit? It's a mystery sometimes to this nuclear engineer.

The reason is a closely guarded secret hidden deep in the bowels of Ford’s new world headquarters. Ft. Knox has lax security in comparison. Only Bill Ford has the key to the vault.

I entirely understand. I charge mine during the day for 2 reasons: our PVE system and that’s when the electric company off peak is in this part of Hawaii.

I have mine set for noon to 4pm daily. The solar system batteries are usually charged up by then and they have a bit of time to recover after the car is done. What can happen, in my experience, is the car will start charging as soon as I plug in if the car’s SOC is 40% or less (or so). It’ll charge for awhile then stop and start charging later on schedule. It’s rarely glitched and charged after 4pm. Of course, if you press the charge button on Ford Pass, it will ignore all preferred charging times.

A combination of its origins in PHEVs with tiny batteries and also wanting preemptively avoid "my EV ran out of juice because it wouldn't charge like it said it would" complaints.

Also in Hawaii, we set our Ford Charger Pro to 10a-5p for the same solar system reasons because we now have added a VW Buzz to our 2024 MME GT. The charging window is very erratic. If we plug in late in the window, it will often ignore the cutoff and keep charging to our preset 80% (set in the Ford and AVE apps.) This either drains our house backup batteries right when we need them to power the house through the night, or actually draws from the grid at the priciest time.

if we plug in after the charge window has closed (so it will start up in the morning) it never works nor does it (usually) offer an errror message. We see the error message only when we physically check the charger.

Brian from Ford is working with the tech team on fixing one end of the window, but apparently not the other yet.

We're strongly considering switching to an Emporia charger. Anybody want a heavily discounted Ford Charger Pro that's only been in service since June?😊

Yes, I suspect even more people would be frustrated if they routinely got in the car and the car was sitting at 67% or wherever it just happened to end.

Manual tells you about the brake coach in some modes.

If your 2022 has the kick to open sensor, you can turn it on in FORScan. Numerous threads on this.

If you set charging hours in the vehicle, it will only charge in those hours unless it calculates you won't hit that limit during those hours. In that case, it will start right away, not say 1/2 hour before if that's all the extra it needs. The way around this is to set the same hours on the EVSE, which prevents charging.

Start Charging is more recent terminology, but Start has meant NOW, and go to 100%. The way around that is to go unplug during the charging hours, then plug in again, and it will now obey the limit. Lightning has a one-time limit you can set.

Also in Hawaii, we set our Ford Charger Pro to 10a-5p for the same solar system reasons because we now have added a VW Buzz to our 2024 MME GT. The charging window is very erratic. A disadvantage of the Ford Charge Station Pro is the integration with FordPass, making differentiating between settings problematic. A different brand intelligent charger allows you to set hours, and during those hours it is IMPOSSIBLE for the vehicle to charge, since there is no power.

I set the charge window in my OpenEVSE unit. If I really need to charge NOW, I can enable charging there, and then start the charge on the Mach-E if it doesn't start immediately on its own.
