Purchasing and Programming another FOB

We just took delivery yesterday . I asked everyone i spoke with about a second key.(about 4) Each employee said “just use your phone”
but the packet had a key fob and the salesman had a key fob, so both wife and i are happy.
And there is no excuse for a $60,000 vehicle to only come with one key in my opinion. Paak or not…..

Didn't help the early adopters, but I think Ford did the right thing by adding another FOB to all cars built after like some July date...

They should also set people up with another if they ask. It can't cost that much if they do this in bulk since programming is free, fob is maybe $5 if even that for Ford buying them in the millions? They should switch to a different FOB which can open the frunk with the FOB.

Is it used? All new MMEs come with 2 key fobs.

It is a new 2021 that hit the lot in December. I thought that all models built after last July had 2 key fobs but I guess not.

No, they definitely do. Your dealer is uneducated, they should both be in the car. If not, point them to this:

SSM 50176 - 2021 Mustang Mach-E - Key Fobs

2021 Mustang Mach-e vehicles built on or before 06-Jul-2021 are equipped with only 1 key fob. The vehicle is not misbuilt. Vehicles built on or after 07-Jul-2021 are equipped with 2 key fobs. The customer can also use the phone as a key feature for an additional key. Do not submit a claim for this condition.

I believe the second fob is in the glove box with your back up start code, etc. My dealer took it out and had both fobs on a keyring for me.

Dealer just messaged me and said they had another key fob in the packet for the car. I was prepared to take this service bulletin to my local dealer

In US you get a mustang fob, but in UK its a normal Ford fob.

No. They use different frequencies.

Maybe i can find a mustang fob with the same frequency. 433.92 or 434.2MHZ

Yeah, I don’t think that applies to the MME. I did find instruction for pairing an aftermarket Ford fob that is more likely to work, and does use the MyKey spot, but it requires 2 fobs which we clearly won’t have.

I can confirm this procedure works and I now have my 3rd FOB with a working Frunk button!

My girlfriend asked me why I bought another FOB and I initially replied "in case I lose 2 of them" to which she said "if you do I will put you at the front of our line up to be admitted into our mentally challenged care-aide home"!

This took a LOT of repeated attempts. I was sure I was counting out the 5 second intervals carefully but wasn't able to get this procedure to work. I found two other (completely different) procedures which also did not work.

BUT THEN ... after trying this enough times, it FINALLY worked. Not sure why it didn't work those previous many attempts but at least it works now and I have a third fob.
